I see comments here saying they believe odium cause he didn't go down to childish levels, well, I disagree. The bottom line is that odium started accusations of something that in any case a GPL project can NEVER be acused. First, because, even if bersekerQ2 used Q2E code, they are on it's right to do it, and they have no obligation of giving credits to anyone. Code can NEVER BE STOLED from a GPL source. Second, because he makes up these acusations from nowhere. I don't know (nor care) if bersekerQ2 uses Q2E code or not, but odium doesn't seem to know it either. He just makes up guesses from screenshots.
So yeah, the Russian crew is exagerated on their use of emoticons, but they have all the right to feel pissed off.

And I cheer up Berserk (the argentinian one) who does all the coding and never gets involved in these stupid wars.

Just too much volumetric lighting or excessive blooms. Everything glowed and it was like playing in fog.
Turn off bloom.  ;D

when i install this i start it up and i get errors in the console saying something like "Cannot find maps,sound,textures etc" something wierd..anyone got this problem too or know what it is?. For some reason i have 2 maps 1 some files in Quake2/baseq2 and some in a map called Berserk@Quake2 or something.
Berserker resources all come from BaseBers.
It doesn't even search in BaseQ2.
All files must be packed in .pk2 zip archives and put to basebers.

How do you think the tastyspleen community views a bunch of uncommon names bickering and tossing insults around(the insults don't even make sense, btw), all while improperly using the english language? :>

Whether odium is right or not, I still respect his views a lot more for 2 reasons 1) he's not stooping down to your level and 2) he used to own back in the day.

1) He called us "crazy Russians who don't give a fuck". This somewhat ruins his image in my eyes. Maybe he could ask Berserker to review his media in some polite way? Oh no, he couldn't.

Although I can understand my mates because it is not the first and even not the second time they have their heads poured with lies from odium & co.

This wasn't a thread in the first place :grrrr:, someone took a section of the QuakeExpo thread where the argument sparked, used my comment (with permission or quote, ought to sue you for plagiarism >:() to start it, and this began. All I have to say is, sorry for the dumb comment and stop arguing plz :WTF:

2odium: All media from Q2E was removed by Berserker.
I just asked you for some facts about his code. Still got no proofs from your side...
If you give no answer, then bye-bye, I stop it too, because I have no interest in further conversation, but your words retain status of lies.

Anyway, no sense in this. All who care made their own opinions right now.

I've already provided more than enough, but to be honest, looking at all the childish comments you guys seem to be spewing (I mean really, an insult every line? Creating a RIP page just for me?), you guys are not worth my time.
Just to be more explicit. I didn't insult you. Maybe you provide those arguments to me with proof? Please without things like this:

Oh and BTW, you say it doesn't use Q2E and you dont have a clue what it is... And yet you use .pk2 files, something which we made up years ago (after Quake 3 .pk3 files, lol).

It's a little childish and absurd, isn't it?

Please give arguments like "this file is from Q2E, because it is the same, compare it if you don't believe".

Finally, about person insults.
Is not it an insult for Berserker that when he asked you to point at the Q2E code in his source (with file name & line number), you didn't answer, just lol'd? How do you think?

If you don't wanna talk about this, no problem, opinion about you will be fulfilled more than enough then.

:ohlord:Yes, you are right. Just LOL. We use the same names for folders and resources. I mean textures/, models/, maps/, config.cfg. We use .BSP extension. We use terms per-pixel lighting, english language and... russian bear.  humm

This is our underwater effect with a badly edited texture for it, remove it, or credit us. Its also using my Q2E crosshair pack.
The fact that it looks a little like your work doesn't mean it is yours. It is a work of our respected mate @Tex. The reasons may be:
1) these two were probably made with the same tools
2) we all know how water looks like.

If you by yourself don't give a clue about the code, don't speak about it being the same. Just simple as that. Berserker doesn't use any interface besides normal console.
