Hopefully that will take care of the problem

If your psu inside your pc is too weak, it can cause all sorts of funky problems. I have one here with the CD ROM and second HDD disconnected because it had the symptoms you describe. If it happens again, try unplugging some non essential devices and see what happens.
Also, replace the power bar with a decent surge protector or even a cheap UPS, we have lots of power surges, I've had 3, 1 Motherboard and a router destroyed by them. 6

I've installed xp on my pc before, runs like a bat outta hell, but very unstable because it doesn't really support modern motherboards etc.

Trouble Shooting / Re: Dup connect attempted - ignored?« on: July 05, 2007, 06:38:08 PM »
DM server, however I think the problem lies at my end like you said. I got the same message when I tried to create my own server. My wife was able to connect using the r1ch client, while I am using the standard client with r1ch renderer. We are both able to connect this way.
Thanx 8
Trouble Shooting / Dup connect attempted - ignored?« on: July 05, 2007, 06:02:16 PM »
Hello,
Tried to connect to Q2 tonight, and my wife also tried for the first time in a while. She cannot see the servers in her address list, and gets "Dup connection attempted - ignored" when trying to connect through the console. I assume this is some sort of anti-cheat mechanism. Is there any way we can both connect at the same time? Thanx 9

I'm sure glad that was an April Fool. I haven't played in a while and I was mighty confused by DM8. By the way, have you seen Google's new free broadband? http://www.google.com/tisp/

Has anyone seen Elysium lately? I know he deleted his forum account a while back. Has he just changed his name or is he gone forever? He used to be on DM like 24/7. How can somebody go from that to 0?
The positive side is that we can actually be on a map for more than 2 minutes now. 13
Quake / Re: DM Timelimit Poll« on: February 11, 2007, 08:18:30 PM »
I was happy with the 30 frag limit (unless Elysium is in the game). I like the adrenaline rush of being at 29 and knowing you need just that 1 more kill to win. The timelimit only seems to ruin that.

Trouble Shooting / Re: Anybody had Q2 working on Vista yet?« on: February 05, 2007, 05:15:49 PM »
Another warning... I have reverted back to XP (well, dual boot xp and vista) because I could not fix the mouse accel problem. I tried every tweak I am aware of, all failed. It rendered Q2 unplayable.

/dev/random / Had enough of vista« on: February 03, 2007, 09:14:42 PM »
Ok, after playing with it and finding out that there are hundreds of little annoying things that are wrong with vista (which I expected - the most shocking thing is that MS have decided to force soundcards back to software mode, no hardware acceleration anymore, this kills my audigy ) I have decided to return to XP for now.
My question is... If I uninstall vista and reinstall XP, will this cause me any problems later since I have already activated vista? Or will I just be able to reinstall it and reactivate it when it is supported (like in 6 months or later)? Thanks. |
