Lohmatiy is working on a fix for the mod. There was an issue with the way the sound was played when someone gets "first". Apparently some people find the sound annoying and there was a way to suppress it per client but the implementation is creating a problem. There is no easy way in the Quake 2 protocol to send a sound to a single client, all sounds are basically broadcasts to all connected clients. Creating a selective sound message is next to impossible in the Q2 engine, there is no API for it.
Homeslice, as a mod coder, I can tell you that your attitude needs some adjustment. Your complaints are not unfounded but you're talking about ancient mod code that in many cases is lost. Many Quake 2 mods on the net are no longer actively supported and you get what you get - bugs and all. You should be grateful that someone still has the source code and can even get into the mod and fix it... if it can be fixed. Your use of the f-word is not going to get it fixed any faster. You have no clue what it takes to create and maintain a mod and have no clue who is maintaining it and who is merely hosting it.
You should concentrate (real hard) on trying to report the conditions that can reproduce the bug and report only the facts, your emotional insertions are not needed and will not win friends or influence people. In the mean time remember that coders are working on their mods for free in their spare time and they have lives to live before they can take time off to read your bitches and bumps. If you can't live with a few bugs and cope with the game the same way everyone else is coping with it, then I suggest you remove the game from your computer and go and do something else.

Well sorry but I thought the whole reason this forum was created was to make jumpmod a better experience. I just posted the bump to see what was going on about this, So far I still have not noticed any other shit it does except make you stop or make you move forward, backward, left, or right. I know that you guys are coders and all but ive seen all kinds of problems on here getting fixed in a day. I was just wondering if you guys where still working on this one, I was just really pissed off because it happened to me about 4 times when I was trying to complete a map.

Good news. Loh asked for some advice on how to do the sounds other than the way it was done in that mod. I gave him some tips on how to create a unicast sound message and get past the engine limitation, glad to hear it worked.
