Listen to alot of music and play along, that is the best way I know of. I have gotten to a point where I can hear a guitar chord played and be able to tell what it is, I can't read music ,but I have elephant ears

Howdy, magical pig. Your bio and gear are very similar to mine. I have a 77 P bass and use a boogie 400 head through 15" JBL's. Clubs...been there and done that too

I still play with my two musical soulmates every weekend and we've been farting around with some recording and stuff but we don't pursue the live thing much right now. The last gig we did was this summer at the Grassroots Blues Festival in Duck Hill, Mississippi......one I'll never forget. I'm thinking the music portion of this message board might become fun

cool krill, nice to hear there are other fender/boogie lovers out there. I get bummed when all I see are the young guys playing peavey or ibanez five string basses. though I have been eyeing a
Ken Smith fiver...

afraid my wallet can't handle that quite yet. I am hoping to find some time this winter to hole up and do some recording again, i have an old Tascam Studio 8 1/4 inch reel to reel multitrack recorder and a few nice mics....we'll see if time allows.

starp on yer geeetar too and start playing along, with every type of music, if uuy're a metal guy - listen to jazz or blues, if you like coutry - listen to metal...it's all helpful, but play along - that will truly train yer ears...

Problem is, im like a beginner, I dont learn chords and stuff, I just learn songs from tab :\ I should have started learning chords but I only know a D chord lol

Are country and jazz songs hard to learn? and could you give me a few to start with?

I am a boogie lover.

I play a rect-o-verb 50 watt combo. that thing is amazing. I eventually wanna get a single or dual rec stack.
