I've been mulling over something like that for awhile now... One thought was to take the "serverdemo" data that q2 can write out, and pipe it over tcp/ip to the relay/mirror server... The relay server would interpret the serverdemo feed (with optional delay), and allow clients to connect as spectators to observe the live "playback".Or some variation on the above....Regards,
I think it would be neat to have a client that has just feeds of spectating. it would also be nice to be able to multi-spectate, like a split screen. I'm betting it can't be to difficult, if you're a programmer, to relay q2 spectate data to a q2 client. you could probably even write an mIRC script to do it (even though you wouldn't want to).
This is what the GTV / MVD protocol is for.
I hope to implement it into R1Q2 once it's stable.
