Adelphia don't, it's against their TOS, but they we will be switching to Comcast in this area, sometime by the end of the year.

Oh I can run servers, when I want. It's just their policy, but it's not like thier going to catch you unless someone complains about it. I use a hell of a lot of bandwidth in BitTorrent alone, and never heard a peep out of them.

How is Comcast with bandwidth usage, I've heard they cap people for using too much.

yeah i heard they cap people too... but there are ways around it

and as for letting 1ny run his server.. i dunno if that against policy or not, but i doubt he would give a shit either way.

cox (just like comcast) uses an internet/cable television/phone connection type connection. with that 1 cable wire, u could hook it up to some shit. connect it to your tv,phone,modem,cable box. my house also has like 7 computers on 1 lan network, and i dont tell any of my older bross the stuff i do cause i wanna keep my ass from getting banned or in trouble from certain shit.

Really, I'd like to know how, in case they do it to me when they switch over here.

Do they also block ports, because Adelphia has ports 21, 25, 80, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 445, 593 inbound blocked. To prevent people from running some types of servers among other stuff

There is generally only one cable company in a given area, Adelphia is the only one here, I don't watch tv, and no need for a phone. And those port blocks are easy to get around, just use a different port.

I've heard the latency on satelite internet sucks, like you ping 1000 and stuff. And it has lower speeds and cost more than cable.

But that's what I've heard, never tried it myself.
