hehe lidz, I bought GH1 3 weeks ago and beat all the songs on expert playing them for the first try. 100% on I love rock and roll, first try. 5 starred all of them with a few tries except texas flood and cowboys from hell. Cowboys from hell is hard for me because you can't cheat in GH1 like you can in GH2 :<

pretty easy game all around. I don't know many people that have a hard time playing it... even shit faced.

lidz, i think he means that the hammer-on's and pull-offs are a lot easier in GH2. like if you see notes going from orange to blue very quickly, you can just hit orange and slide your finger across and all 5 will count, and i've heard its very hard to do that on GH1 (i've never played GH1).

EDIT: also, i think on songs like hangar 18 and six that have many notes of one kind (like 8 green notes in a row bunched up together), if you get you're timing right you can strum between two notes and both will count.. its kinda weird.. but even with all this, GH2 is still much harder.

My problem is, I have played real guitar for my whole life, so when I play GH - I tend to play like I would a real guitar. It is hard to get out of the guitar player mind set and into the GH mind set. If that makes any sense at all.

Gemini is my new challange, it is far from easy.

I agree jag - it isn't the toughest game, but fun when playing with friends trying to beat one another. While shit faced of course.

. my gf is the most uncoordinated thing in the world and doesn't have a tough time with the game. we get home from the bar with a few friends and someone has normally never played the game before, after a few rounds they'll start kicking ass. seems very simple to me I guess hah

i'm just flat out going in order, and i'm stuck on tattooed love boys now.. tried 3 times and failed around 60% each time.. i'll probably try again later. the whole real guitar/GH thing makes perfect sense.. but i really wouldnt call this an easy game, since there are 2 songs i believe no one has gotten 100% on and the world record for jordan is 94%. I dunno, anybody thats never played before, if you put it on the song SIX by all that remains on expert.. they'd fail before they got 10% through the song over and over again. Same goes for several other songs, expert mode definitely takes some practice

Oh I'm not saying that all parts of the game are super easy... there are some songs that are definitely difficult to complete with a high score but I am saying that a majority of them are rather simple. I am also not saying that a person who has never played before can pick up on expert mode the second they start. But mid tier is rather trivial for them after a small amount of plays. Maybe it's just the people that I've experienced playing for their first time.

maybe.. i know there are a big difference in the songs, because i can beat 1/4 of the songs in the game on expert after only playing 2 weeks, but some i wont get past 10% STILL. its really all in which song you pick. for instance, the first time i played heart-shaped box by nirvana on expert, 89%. if i tried jordan or six, i'd fail <10% lol

I've had GH2 for a little while now, a little over a month I think? I can get 90% or more on "most" all songs on Hard. Expert I can play some songs, but some are just too crazy for me at this point. Haven't 100% any songs yet on Hard, but I haven't really focused on any one song too much, except for maybe Sweet Child of Mine, which I CAN play all the parts on that song, but I've never gotten them all in one run. I think my best is like 97 or 98% on that one. This is on PS/2 btw. Songs with REALLY fast strumming, like Misirlou, I can't seem to get the rhythm right. I'm not sure if I'm playing too fast or what.

Fun game though. Some of my favorite songs are Thunderhorse, The Light That Blinds, Gemini, Radium Eyes, Jordan, Push Push (Lady Lightning), and a bunch of the more mainstream ones. Who Was In My Room Last Night, etc.
