Yes, the fact that you went with a Asus (AMD Lover) Motherboard for a Intel Chip.
Asus Loves AMD, not that there's anythink wrong with that, it's just that they only make Boards for Intel because they don't want to miss the market.

Aaaaand, the fact that you went with NewEgg instead of TigerDirect.
NewEgg,s prices are slightly less than TigerDirect's BUT TigerDirect would have saved you an ass loan on shipping. They charge for shipping by per order, not per item.

Other than that, It's all Gooood.

The ASUS loving AMD thing is kind of worrying. I chose the mobo cos it had rave reviews, was SLI etc. etc. Hopefully it will turn out ok.

As far as tiger vs newegg, I like both and have been treated so well by newegg I tend to look there first. I looked at tiger, but never thought to compare shipping.

Anyway, hopefully I will have my new pc monday or tuesday.

Don't know why death feels that way. I have used an Asus Mobo with an Intel Chip in multiple computers for many years and never once encountered a problem. Premium performance comes with Intel products and Asus products. Using both together works out great.

Newegg rocks. I always tend to order my things through Newegg. Unsure about that shipping idea. Shipping tends to be priced by weight and even if each item is weighed separately or all together it's going to be the same cost.

Well... I ordered everything but the case from newegg (the case makes the shipping skyrocket, so I'll get it from compusa).

The order from newegg was $671.12 including fed ex saver shipping (I like fedex)
The same order from tiger would have been $687.12 with ups ground shipping.

The geforce is $30 more @ tiger, thats probably what did it.

Heh, sorry, might have sounded a litle to serious there.
Asus makes GREAT boards period. I was more joking around than anything about that.
It's just that Asus does love AMD and if I was building a PC based on AMD I wouldn't get ANYTHING but Asus.
But all in all, Asus Rocks regardless.

It has to beat the snot out of the micro atx pc chips mobo I had a few years ago. It would only recognize the modem for a few minutes at a time. You had to take out the modem (a PCI card) every 20 minutes or so and put it back in again. Eventually the copper connections on the card itself wore away.

Heh BioStar, ESC, all of them.
Actually there's nothing wrong with any of them. There actually preaty good for low cost budget systems.
Only one I actually hate is ESC.

I have a chaintech right now, and it is very solid.

PC chips makes me laugh more than any joke you can tell me. I remember, maybe 1 out of 10 of those boards actually functioned, and 1 out of 100 had all components working.

My stuff is comming wednesday, along with my grado headphones. I'll go sunday and get the case, and wait for fedex. What can I download to challenge this pc and impress me?

Got my stuff from newegg. Everything works fine. The 7900GT is the most impressive. It can handle Q4 1024x768 ultra settings with 16x antialiasing no problem. I ran out of memory though (doh, should of got the 2 gig), but High settings at 1024x768 16x antialiasing runs like q2 ran on my old system. With OpenAL sound it is awesome.
