That -1 was intentional suicide before i gave up. to bad u wouldnt rematch.
few quick things...the game vs ridix i asked if he wanted to play a different map, he seemed very eager to play me since he knew i hadnt played in months. since i think edge is a bad 1v1 map (one can easily run all game with really no consequences since the sounds are so revealing - if playing defensive). i just hid all game to show the maps flaw while boring my opponent to death.i've beaten ridix 8 of 10 times on his only good map.purri tried incredibly hard to go 'pro' at q4 and he lost his sponsor because he simply couldn't compete. i can tell you first hand (naymlis and scooby will too) that the skill level in q4 far exceeds the skill in the q2 community. purri is probably 25th-30th best in the world at q4, and he was no doubt a better q2'er than any north american.q4 has a small community like any 'pro' game (games with huge money tournaments all over the world) in recent history. look at doom3/painkiller for example. it becomes so competitive that newbs or average players can't even get fun out of it. there's more than 20 people in the community though. hell, more than 20 players have gotten over $3000+ or so out of the game. Toxic, the #1 player has made about $70,000 in the last 10 months from it. there's way more aiming/thinking/timing in q4 1v1 because the sound system isn't so revealing, and there's no .wav timer system. q4 is as close to a 'pure' skill quake game there is imo. it's not as fun as q2, but it's way harder to master and unquestionably has more skill among it's community - compared to any q2 era.
I"m not sure what this obsession with evidence is
