Just so you know, making that much money isn't entirely uncommon.  $1400/wk works out to about $73K/yr.  Plenty of educated, hard working people make at least that.  Just remember that you wanted to play the salary game first.

When q2 first came out it didn't have any maps designed for ffa or tdm at all. So all the maps played online at first were the single player maps. After awhile online gameplay really started to catch on, so when they released patch 3.13, they included maps dm1-8 in it. To add some maps that were better suited for dm. Then later on, they released 3.15 which changed the physics in the game. So now you were able to do all the jumps and all that that were not possible before. So basically it's a fluke and a coincidence that dm1 ended up being such a great map for jumps.

Agree.  It is simple.  Even with an answer from the map author people still argue.

It is like asking God if humans came from evolution or intelligent design; God saying evolution, and people still arguing about it.  Thus the original thread title.

Considering the edge was designed before the plans for the physics change were conceived, and the physics changes weren't actually intended to allow double jumping, and other tricks...

It's pretty obvious the jumps weren't planned.
