If you look at the Frag's per Day/ week/ month you will Foc on all of those list.
He is obviously there playing under that name a lot.

Yeah, I guess Foc is so far down the list I was having trouble seeing him on it. Maybe if he gets better at quake2 I might notice him eventually.

I’m not sure if I’ve spent enough time on any of those servers that get recorded to that list.  I’m not sure what servers even get recorded there other than tastyspleen dm?

Maybe once in a blue moon I’ll pop in tastyspleen dm or tastyspleen railz if some one asks me to join them but most of my time playing quake 2 is on CTF servers, some Ra2, actionq2, DDay, other random mods here n there.

90% of all my time in quake 2 history has been spent playing railwarz ctf

I did just start playing a little bit of q2 TDM this year I think I’ve got about 20-30 games under my belt by now. On mostly just q2dm1

I didn’t really ever play any death match at all growing up or even use any weapon other than the railgun until some recent years when I started playing lfire ctf  lmctf and Ra2

To whoever cares:

888 is using two clients, one to play (888), and one to evade his chat ban (.888). Not to mention that double clients is what people do to "ghost". So he's probably got a second monitor spectating another current player, which is how he was able to avoid me so consistently, which is kinda considered CHEATING in any kind of match where proper sportsmanship is involved at all.

and then his buddie Pasta that keeps hero worshipping him constantly in the chat.
Is that often and annoying ive started to quit when he comes on lately.

Just make a cfg file.  Call it what you want.  Example:  mute.cfg

In the file start adding the folks you want muted.  Example:

ignorenick "888"
ignorenick "888-legend.com"
ignorenick "Pasta Ssempa"

etc...

Save that file into your baseq2 folder and then bind a key to exec that cfg after you connect to the server.

For example:  bind m "exec mute.cfg"

Now press m when you are connected to the server and they will all be ignored.

Just like that, your quake session will improve.  The thing is you have to exec it everytime you connect but it works.

Bibi , will that work on any client ?  i use unofficial patch 3.24 ( just for the widescreen support)  i seem to have problems getting the anticheat to work without the gfx glitching lol

I am not sure how the clients play into this.. 
I use the latest RTX client with Opengl and it works for me.
Only 1 way to find out. 

While in game, type /ignorenick 888

If you no longer see anything, then it worked and you can make that file..

Hope it works for you. 
BTW - what name do you play under on the dm server?

I approve of the effort to just ignore 888 if it's his usual debauchery over his self acclaimed/imagined q2 prowess. If he's being bothersome beyond that feel free to post a condump of his behavior and we'll look into it.

Sorry to hear that it keeps crashing on the tastyspleen server.  If you google the exception, you might find other folks that dealt with it and how they fixed it.

As far as testing the /ignorenick command goes -  if you want to test it without having to go on the dm server itself, just go onto one of the other tastyspleen servers that are empty.  For example - I test my commands on the warehouse server.  I run through my commands until they work the way I think they should be working.  Once you have your commands working, you can then use them on the dm server.  Almost like a sandbox vs live production idea if you will..

i did do some googling on the error and all ive found is its crashing possibly becasue of a sound driver error, which i cant understand as the game is fine on non Tastyspleen servers lol
while it runs for maybe 10 or 20 secs its perfectly fine lol, sound is good no issues running, then it crashes.

I'll look into it a bit more and see if i get anywhere, but for now i think ill have to carry on using 3.24 until when/if i can fix the RTX version.

well thanks to bibi and some tinkering with rail settings in RTX Q2 , finally got it working, couple of small issues to sort, but for the most part its all good, and that ignore feature is from the gods no more spam
