  The funny thing about all this is the player in the video, was actually using a wall hack. 
This demo was a friend of mine using a modern (new) wall hack code. Nothing fancy, everything used to implement the code was free and can be googled (I even managed to do some magic with the IP used).

I wouldn't even worry about it. Nobody's cheating... unless YOU are. Are you? History has taught many of us that those who obsess the most about cheating are often the ones doing it.

Your comment on my previous thread was an over generalization of a problem that should be handled in a "case-by-case" manner (I didn't even care that you accused me of cheating). Only way to see if you were educated on the matter was to purposely post a demo of a player executing the wall code. Honestly, I was hoping everyone would catch on and prove to me that I really shouldn't worry about cheating. Instead you showed the quake 2 world what a total ass for brains you are. The over-generalization of the issue is one thing, but somehow your argument morphed into some "Conspiracy" about me plotting against you like I had a score to settle.... Which is very telling of why players don't report anything.

  Haunted, I don't know you or see why you wanted to get involved in the first place. You didn't say anything previously that I thought should be dealt with. I thought of you as just trolling my threads trying to get a reaction outta me or that you have your head so far up focalor's ass that you were Pinocchio. My response to you is two-fold: 1. 2. You and Focalor buy an apartment and move in together.

 

Last thing we need are a gaggle of low-information FFA players with no concept of Q2's high skill cap running around with a fresh "spot hackers" guide tucked under their arm, think they're seeing cheaters everywhere.

Quadz, you make a point and I understand your concern. Of course there are going to be a ton of false-positive's, but that's why there is a bot drop thread for the community to weed out the mistakes (helping other players feel comfortable about being treated fairly if they get accused). What kinda message does it send to everyone if they think they will get ridiculed by everyone for making an honest mistake? Is this really the kinda atmosphere to create on the forums? What if there are ACTUAL cases of cheating?

Any admins reading this and feel the need to ban me for using a wall-hack in the demo, go for it. I was hoping this could turn into something where I provide information on how I did this, but at this point I'm too dis-heartened to think that would do any good. These forums are toxic. I mean if you don't understand anything about the game or how computer networking works, then that might be believable. Posting blatant lies does no one any good.

The player you demo'd had no signs of cheating in the play time captured. Leave it at that and don't make life difficult for yourself. It hurts your standing in the community more to argue and insult than it ever would to be wrong.

I'd suggest raising your own awareness of how to play the game at a higher level before worrying about whether other people are cheating.

If you see some one you think is cheating, then feel free to post more demos and some one will look over them. Just be aware that you will not be right most of the time until you have a better understanding of the game and the skill set necessary to spot things out of the ordinary. Also remember to keep these matters on the forums rather than the servers as shaming people for playing better than you only hurts what few people are left.

Ask and you shall receive. I don't believe you, but I'll assume that what you said is true. You went about this the wrong way to "help admins out". I've actually done plenty for this community concerning cheat prevention. Wasting everyone's time and trolling them clearly took priority over "helping" us. Just the fact that you claimed to do this is enough for me. You're banned from the tourney servers.

Actually you can still do that now.  PM the admin and explain what was used and what to look for.
