r1ch was the only one who had the power to restore order and remove that rotten apple, but he seems to be a rotten apple himself and I think I was the only one complaining about it at him, so I had no support, let it die then, I dont give a fuck anymore.

 

You're being absolutely ridiculous. Let me ask you, Amp, how old are you? If the answer is greater than 13, then you have a lot of growing up to do. At the end of the day, none of this means fucking anything. It's a 20 year old video game that a couple hundred people across the globe still play. Those who do, have been doing it long enough to navigate the master servers list. Give it a rest, man. If no one is on your server, or if you don't enjoy running it, then STOP. No one is interested in this manufactured Good vs Evil drama that exists only in your head, and it's clearly not providing a positive impact on your own life. So stop. Stop whining. Stop giving a shit about some asshole's Quake2 server. Stop flooding every Quake2 related forum with rants. Stop throwing R1CH under the bus. And if you can't do those things, then you should just stop and walk away.

Like I said in another thread, people around here should really count themselves lucky. There's been plenty of fuck-mook's in the history of Tastyspleen, and I swear on a stack of bibles with my right hand to God, not a single one of them hold a candle to the ongoing dumbfuckery that is perpetrated in other video gaming communities. everytime i go take a look, the list of fake servers seems to grow....

well if he's hosting all them servers from a crappy DSL line like i used to, then it's going to be super laggy. if he's paying for hosting, then he's wasting his money, unless of course he's loaded.  then in which case it  makes no difference :-)

I didnt start the fight, as people can see, he has now started .ML servers (rlogin.ml instead of rlogin.nl) and extreme fake clients (90/256 etc) .

He uses his old IP from danmark for his new fake servers which is active till november 2015 which is known on the wall of shame: http://stats.antiche.at/?ip=81.161.188.225&t=c
he dropped the fake clients (for now) on his normal lithium server so 'it looks like' all those .ml domains are mine to make me look bad, but they are his.... he thinks the community is not smart enough to see these things.
He removed the fake names on his default .dk server to look "honest" but the one at the top (90/256 players) with .ML extension (trying to look like it's mine) redirects to his .dk server!

The result of all of that is that q2 will be even more dead because this cant be taken serious anymore and even now R1ch don't take action.

The only thing I wanted months ago was to start a server because I loved the game but the concurrent didnt like that and wanted domination in the lithium scene and tried to talk bad about me, otherwise I would NEVER have started ANY fake client to begin with, it spiraled out of control now but believe me, he was the rotten apple from the start, I just reacted as a response, but because his players were declining and my website was higher ranked on google after a while, he probably became mad because I suspect that he doesnt have a life besides q2 and was probably crying to see his players declining , so now he starts to act weird.

what did I do now ?
I changed all q2.rlogin.nl servers to play.q2lithium.com servers and gave them honest bot tags which will stay. no fakeness anymore. let him lead the fakery, he earns a medal for it.

To make it clear: q2.lithium.ML is not mine , I had .nl , not .ML, .ML belongs to mio from rlogin.dk who tried to mimic my servers by using a free .ML extension but it redirects to his default .dk server, that's why he deleted the fake clients on his main server because the fake one that looks like mine redirects to his
Smart attempt, but we're not crazy right ?

edit: he just removed the fake redirecting one at the top or r1ch removed it after my tweet to him about it, the malicious server still remains with the forcing stufftext commands, I'm wondering what his new move will be....

Yea, that's pretty dickish. Just FYI, the rate setting is mostly harmless, dare I say pointless in 2015. Quake2's network protocol is limited to the maximum message size times the server tick rate; i.e. 1400 bytes times 10hz, or a max theoretical throughput of ~14000 bytes per second. So setting a rate to anything higher than 14000 has no net effect on how your connection will behave. Similarly, unless you're on dialup, there's absolutely no reason to set this value to anything less.

i notice if you play around with the rate, say 100 (which is 100 bytes) game gets yellow bars in the netgraph and plays choppy. changing the FPS however does something similiar which allows players to go through some objects not normally able to. (q2ctf1)
