And +1 to fader.  Neither you or 2dum should ever be considered for even limited admin access.  If you're gunna go that route, you might as well just give me full admin and I'll police the shit out of the server, and I promise to be very fair(ban gump every chance I get).

Again, the ra2 server does not need any kind of regular admin. If you need someone to just do the basic server admin stuff, then Elysium or Haunted would be the obvious choices.

The tasty community would never hear the end of the constant complaining and moaning that would ensue.

 players would conjure up phony complaints. (even those that don't even play there) it would be quite amusing.     

In all seriousness though, it might not be necessary for an admin if these issues are resolved. also the chances of quadz allowing me or anyone else mentioned as admin are quite small. even despite the usual suspects "speculating" on how i would handle things.

Turns out the ra2 vote threshold had been raised to 76% back when we were trying to limit vote kick abuse. (Vote kick has since been disabled.)

lol, good times.  You upping the threshold back then was a pain to get any vote kick to pass til we got creative and started using "kick playerid" instead of "kick playername" and telling everyone to vote yes, he's lagged out, or else everybody voted no since they knew we were trolling.  Hops and I were so cool back then.  (and still are)

I've lowered the threshold to 50% (the presence of WallFly on the server shouldn't affect this, as q2admin is only counting yes- vs. no-votes, ignoring non-voters.)

Lemme know how it goes, or if it needs further tweaking...

Perfect, thanks boss man.  You can delete any hopes you ever had of becoming a "limited access" admin, out of your head gump.  Since the need for an admin present on the ra2 server went from 4%  down to .1%.

The fact that he thinks quadz would even consider it is mind-boggling. The insignificance of not having an admin is basically matched by having an admin--if it's a normal admin. Meaning I doubt anything would change in the slightest if me and elysium were given privs to the server(no, that isn't a request), with the exception of whatever fraction of a % that was just mentioned. Quadz also probably wouldn't have the slightest problem giving elysium or I the password.... IF one of us pursued the matter with good motive(neither are).

Golgo pursuing it is an entirely different story. I mean seriously, give everyone a bit of what you're smoking.. I'm sure there's a few people who need a decent break from reality

  We need a solution due to what happened on thursday nite when slugski voted 6 maps in a row... I think we should follow golgo's poll and implement a rotation as well as higher the vote threshhold again, maybe to 70%.

  Based on the polling as well as the general feel of which maps like to be played in what order, i think that this list is a good rotation for the ra2 server: 13 maps (1/2 hour each) totaling 6.5 hours of gameplay on ra2 nights:
 

 *if a vote is taken to return to map27, after lets say map20, thus skipping map24, the rotation should not restart the list, going once again to map 17, but continue on to map 12 

  this is my opinion, but i think it would work.

I say up the voting thresh hold to maybe 63%?, it was at 71% before 2dum and you remember how hard it was to get maps voted then.  And I think vote kick should be put back in to place for things like this, with around the same thresh hold for voting maps and then idiots like this can be kicked.(not that it would do anything I guess, but if they are kicked over and over, they eventually will give up and leave).  A map rotation is ridiculous.  Again, I said this before, there was a server that made a map rotation back then of like 8 maps and in doing so, you couldn't vote the other maps that weren't in the rotation and the server quickly died out in a couple months due to inactivity.  I can't remember if there was an easy way to implement a map rotation without removing maps or not.  But irregardless, you guys need not waste quadz time with stupid fucking requests.  Ask simple things if you must, but you guys act like he has nothing better to do than to bend to all your requests.

  I think if a map rotation cannot be implemented easily, quadz should promote Ely to ra2 admin since hes almost always easily reachable and actually plays the mod with us and is likeable by all. IF there are shenanigans going on, ely can handle it.

P.S. please let me know if the per-player vote interval seems to work? I'm concerned the q2admin may "forget" about everything when the map changes. It's currently set really high (15 min.)

The main reason why i initiated this thread was because slugs did the same thing when we were playing. apparently he has a messed up computer or connection that will not allow him to connect to the server for more than 15 minutes. instead of fixing his computer, he votes the maps while players aren't voting it seems. it's tedious to switch in the middle of the map.

a map rotation would fix this. however, call vote limit is also not a bad Idea. however, if someone wants to change the settings, they will have to wait longer to configure the server to implement the fix. so it seems there is no solid fix to the issue. other than what i mentioned. either way you slice it, there will be a conflict in settings i think, somehow somewhere unless this is addressed.
