FFA Skills?  Haha I would be doing alot better if it wasn't for just having some bad luck. Half my deaths seem to come from 3rd party crossfire, and another 1/10th to 1/5th of them come from chat frags. Because of that I like big levels where I can ply my sneaky talents to the max, where its less likely someone will just walk around the corner and nail me while im dancing with someone else's railgun.

So basically big maps like Q2DM4 and FACT1, and only like 6-10 players. When it gets up to like 15-20 players I get lost in the background.

BFG whore?  Maybe but then again other people use it too whenever its available. So its not like im ruling the map with it.
Fact is I switch weapons alot - might use the BFG and then pull out the SSG to finish people off.

I really am better at Railz... and if you consider my Unreal Tournament experience im pretty good at CTF and TDM too. But I never see anyone playing it to be honest.

Smack talk on this forum comes almost exclusively from the Dueling crowd. If you want to keep your self-respect, don't give in and join them. Putting it short, FFA is like going to college just for parties. Dueling is like a middle school student arguing over his favorite episode of Dragon Ball Z

No he did not nail it. There are probably, 3 servers that aren't TDM/duel that in my experience that I am much more likely to get shit talked on just from playing and not provoking anything(dm server, some xatrix server, wod-x.....) Statements surface showing that they themselves care about "dragon ball z", but perhaps they shouldn't have "gone to college only for the parties" being that they do care, or at least so they had time to watch a few episodes. ;< Personally, I only watched that horseshit when I was younger. Q2 provides some cool people and some whackjobs. I've seen plenty of FFA whack jobs come and go... I've seen even more TDM whack jobs stay. Way to lump all the "Duel crowd" together though, I guess(when you're done with that, stop by #nadl in irc on enterthegame.com and actually interact with the 20-some people duel crowd that do not have a mental disorder). We don't use ColdFlo as a representation of the FFA crowd, so don't be afraid.

Not to mention that a game full of 16 people generating 8 lines of smack is actually 4 times less per capita than a game of 2 people generating 4 lines of smack.

I'm just saying things get pretty quiet around the 1v1 crowd, and with the exception of only a select few people who do nothing but talk smack, there's not much smack going on now, and there are countless people who whine and complain about camping, botting, quad damage, and even the RAILGUN in FFA, so don't get started.

Also, you should know better than to lump all people who play 1v1 as some kind of hate-mongering smack talk demons. There's plenty of fun to be had in 1v1/TDM, in fact, I find FFA dull and 1v1/TDM much more fun.

IMO

I can see that someone with a very high skill level will be exposed to more accusations of hacking on a FFA server.  Someone like myself who is only slightly above average will not see the same amount.
I think the talk on FFA is more out of lack of knowledge (thinking that someone who comes in and dominates has to be hacking)  Most of the normal talk on FFA is just people BS-ing.

I think the talk in TDM is more serious because it is a more competitive mod.  it is not so much about someone hacking, it is more about I am better than you are.

They can both be considered smack talk, but I think they are totally different types.

So it all depends on what type of smack you are talking about and the skill level of the player involved when you say one mod has more smack talk than another.

Both FFA and TDM have smack talk, but in my experience it can be much more confrontational and personal in TDM. I've played FFA on tastyspleen for a very long time, and I've never really had a problem with the random bot accusations that any decent player is bound to receive while playing it, but as Sgt.Dick has stated, it's usually out of ignorance.

I think it's honestly one of the perks to being a top ffa player in the ffa crowd's eyes. I've seen more duel/tdm players who hardly play ffa get more shit talking or hacking accusations, simply because the ffa players don't know them. The known top ffa player for some reason gets respect because his skill is seen as "legit". Also, I've seen players straight up avoid or quit shooting better players. It's as if they give up because they know that they can't win vs them. I've seen people do it vs Optica, once before. One of the most funny yet pathetic things I've seen on dm.

I can't remember the players who did it, but he wasn't one of them. That happened on the dm server. I've hardly seen gazza anywhere but on vanilla.
