NBA Player from the LA Lakers who was on probation, violated that probation and must now serve 25 days in jail.
Here is were it gets strange - he is going to be allowed to go to practice and play in home games in LA.
The jail is going to consider this part of a work release program.
Kentavious must wear a ankle bracelet while outside of the jail. It will be funny to see a NBA player out on the court wearing a ankle bracelet
Here is the story -

It's basically a more intense version of house arrest. They call it "diversion" sometimes in my state. I had an ex that lived in a female diversion center for a while from a felony charge she had ("destruction of government property" I think it was, lol, she spray painted dirty words on a school bus or something. Fuckin' classy, huh?). She was on regular probation, but then got a DUI or something, and instead of sending her to prison, for half a year she'd live at the diversion center leaving only for work or doctors appointments. If you're on a diversion thing and you get in trouble again or don't show up in the evening after your work shift ends within a certain time, they don't fuck around, they issue a warrant immediately and come haul you off to prison for a year or more. I don't think she had the option of being late back to the diversion center though, I think she said because she didn't have a license, they drove her to and from her job at Panera Bread in a prison van, LOL!

Video-gamer, 28, kills mom after blaming her for broken headset -
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/01/13/video-gamer-28-kills-mom-after-blaming-her-for-broken-headset-police-say.html
According to a police report, Lydia Nicholson went to check on her son in his bedroom after he became upset while playing video games and began shouting.
Police say Nicholson argued with his mother, broke his video game headset, then blamed her.
He then allegedly grabbed a gun, fired two shots into a wall, then shot his mother before his 81-year-old father wrestled away the weapon.

Second time in two weeks this guy tried to rob this cell phone store in Houston. This time, the owner's wife was there and she calmly got the employees and customers out, and locked the guy in! (Apparenly he has a lengthy criminal record and is expected to get 5 years.)

Most jails and prisons are egregiously underfunded, dangerously under staffed, over crowded, subsist on 2 meals a day rather than 3, and don't have enough beds. The last 2 things piss off the inmates the most and makes the situation even more dangerous.
Meanwhile... apparently this guy has so much extra money lying around that he can put up 3 custom made neon signs just for lollzies.
The PD where I live was doing shit like that too, buying extravagant and completely unnecessary items*... just before they got investigated for systematic corruption and fraud which led to 95% of the city staff being fired and replaced.
*for example: The city is barely the size of a flea with a one room bricked shack smaller than a trailer for a post office, and the PD is about the same size too. There's probably less than 1/4 of a mile of main 4-lane highway going through the corner of the city (where they'd have their speed trap and window tint fine scam going). But because they were being investigated, they had to spend some of the ludicrous amounts of profit the PD was raking in, so... they bought a $100,000+ high speed pursuit supercar... for a city no bigger than a fart with NO expressways travelling through it which might make such a car a reasonable purchase. Who got to drive it? The skinny little hot blonde cop who looked to be about 20 and couldn't take down a TODDLER if she had to.
I got a DUI there and was sentenced to the usual 6mos license suspension, 40hrs community service, a couple thousand fine, and 12mos probation. I had to do the community service. They wanted free work of course. But I never saw a probation officer, never took one piss test, yet they still charged me "probation fees" as part of my monthly fine payments. The city usually never gets that portion of the money, a probation officer is a private entity. Can you say fraud?
Part of my community service had me cleaning pinestraw and dirt and weeds out of the back of an old junker ambulance. They probably got it for free, although I'm sure they claimed to have "bought" it on paper. They had the back of it gutted and converted into a paddy wagon. IN A CITY THE SIZE OF A FUCKING SPECK, they need a fucking paddy wagon to haul 12+ people off to jail at once? I don't think so. Just a way for them to cook the books and account for some of the money they were probably pocketing before they got investigated.
Right before they started getting investigated, they bought a garbage truck. They were probably planning on starting their own city trash service and dumping it just out of city limits on an expanse of land owned by the crooked mayor or the crooked police chief. I'll bet you anything they wouldn't have applied for proper permits and shit to create a legit landfill. They would've had the town lackey pick up trash once a week and they would've collected money from everyone in town every month.
Remember the Atlanta Olympics bombing? Remember the cop that people at first thought might've planted the bomb? He didn't, but his rep was trashed after that and no one wanted to hire him,... except THIS city, where he'd be glad just to keep a job and would in turn thank them by keeping his mouth shut about the corrupt shit going on. They also let him ride around with his pet dog in the police car all day every day. It wasn't a police dog. Just his fuckin' pet. Professionalism for ya.
FUCK Pendergrass and the shit eating family that
still
runs it.
