the 2nd video upload is messed up. audio and vid are desync'd + a bunch of other stuff(random ffwding, skipping, slowing down, etc.)... mainly during Harry Potter v. c12 :razzberry:

Hey, I actually had this same issue while trying to watch the live stream. Had to go back to nadl to watch as it was just dropping way too many frames on the webcast. I had thought it was my dsl connection but perhaps not?

thats own3d for you it seems since they switched more and more problems like the mentioned have occured, i cant even watch the live stream at all, my iinternet is dick, but on ustream i used to be able to watch it for a few mins and itd lag and what not, now i cant even load more then miliseconds before it buffs, but i think they need to use own3d to get the stream looking as good as it does...

must have just been a problem with jehar's connection to the own3d server... i believe the own3d servers are euro based so its not hard to imagine

audio is messed up starting in the first recording and carries all the way through the third i believe :/

overall it was a good koth though... :P just have two instances of the stream open so you can sync the audio up manually with one muted for the video lmao

There does seem to be an issue somewhere in the connection to own3d's servers. There are euro servers which have made it so euro can watch the stream and it doesn't look like ass, but we connect to the LA or WA server. There are a few in the US thankfully. There also seem to be an issue with our fiber provider which could be the cause of the issues with own3d. I'm not clear on the details something about level 3 having massive issues with 30% or more packet loss. Jehar has watched it pop up with a nod to see it drop with in minutes. So it's not something we can help atm, but hopefully after we return home it will no longer be an issue. Also we may start taking local vods like we did yesterday. Thank you very much for keeping us informed of issues and I will see if we can get help from own3d in order to recover those that have been lost or damaged.

See you after the 26th!

what about traceroutes between the application flow?  you might need to the server and from the server to you : (

you'll probably need the traceroutes to say...this is packet loss in Level3's network.  I assume it's upstream since nothing else is having an issue.

pathing is nice because it comes up with statistics, but I found if pings are blocked to your local firewall it doesn't keep going..

Well jehar's been using this really nifty tool that does a traceroute + a running ping check... I can't say I understand it all so I'm not even going to pretend to get what you're talking about or jehar. Just repeating what I remember from him explaining to me which I could have fuck that up as well.  :dohdohdoh:

pathping is a microsoft version of the mrt tool

its basically a traceroute that finds the servers in a route, then it pings each server 100 times and takes a few minutes then throws out stats for ya

honestly my favorite trouble shooting tool for connections by far :)

Yes it just does a traceroute and then pings each hop to try and gather statistics on where the connection is bad, taking to much time, dropping packets, etc.

The reason I recommended MRT though was that pathping won't do stats if it part of the path blocks the ping.  So if your firewall doesn't reply for the traceroute, and you get *'s, it'll just stop where mrt will keep going.

At least that's what I figured, but it's pretty straightforward.  You send an ICMP echo request with a time to live of 1.  The router responds with ICMP time to live exceeded.  The software looks at the source address and shows you the first hop.  Pathping at the end of this would ping each hop in the list a bunch to gather stats (ICMP echo request - ICMP echo reply).  The funny thing is routers don't care about these packets much, but generally you can gather some info.
