i could see some situations where cheat codes are needed on the server... give items would be ok becaues some times a noob picked up a key and left? or all the ammo? weapons? armor?

BUT... what would be the point of keeping god mode active on the server? :/ and no clip? and no target?

isnt it possible in some way or another to fully disable some cheats but keep some others? or is it an all in thing

Keys, the commander's head, and the airstrike marker all stay even when one player picks it up so that all other players can pick it up too. Weapons stay as well. But ammo and armor do not.

I think that the best solution is to disable cheats and to start players with certain weapons based on unit.

I.e. after unit 1, everyone gets shotgun and machinegun.

In fact this would probably be easiest to implement with overrides. Just add the desired weapons at the start location of every map.

Another fairly successful method is to have "classes" so that players start with and can only carry certain weapons. I did this with my Marine DM coop server. Demolition, sniper, gunner, etc.

The cheat codes are also a nice way to be invincible while you quadrail the shit out of the godmoded mexicans and juggle them in the air until they rage.

..not that I would EVER do that.

Just to be clear in case it is not:  Those are not [BTF] Members.

Terminator and loccust aren't mexicans. They are chileans, like me, but that's not the point .

I completely agree with you. Disable ALL the cheats ... but, is it possible to start with certain weapons when joining the server?.
 
Another solution would be in the final stages (I think the last 6), placing weapons in some parts of them (even if it's possible), because there aren't.

I'm fairly certain that X7 has submitted an override for almost all of the SP maps to fix various issues. It's certainly possible to add the weapons, and between him, Faderjok, and zepplin we have quite a bit of talent making overrides around here.

I suggest that we start with a list of all the SP maps and what weapons should be placed at the beginning.

EDIT:

Note that one of the standard paks contains configs for giving weapons upon loading different units. Also the Rogue expansion has weapon packed levels used for starting coop games at the beginning of units, so I don't think that we are ruining the original design of any map by doing this.

First appearance of the rail in SP is Fact1 - under the swing-up platform. It's also in the secret level (Fact 3) attached to it.

A good idea would be a vote option for resetting the game to map base1. Just start from the beginning - awesome. No weapon problems then.
