I liked Fedora 8 better for what I do with Linux. I last looked at Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) I was not impressed. I might look at 10.10 and see what's up.

She clearly ordered wrong and Dell should have corrected it immediately when she called them the first time instead of talking her into "trying it". When you are taking courses in Microsoft Office 2007, Open Office doesn't work. She should never have been conned into keeping Ubuntu. She also shouldn't have to have run around buy a retail Windows disk to correct a Dell mistake. It's not a religious issue, it's a suitability for its intended purpose issue and the purpose was education, not OS appreciation. Like it or not, MS Office is the industrial standard and people are expected to know it.
