This is me trying to JUMP BOXES i cant do it. I failed at life. Someone help me and teach me good deeds

I'm not too good at it either, but I do know how it's done ... with strafe, circle, or combination of.  This is the main thing that sets quake2 apart from all other games, past, present, and future.

i totaly suck at doing jumps
i think im doing something wrong, and i dont think watching demos is gunna help

One thing to note on JUMP DEMOS!!!!! dont watch the jump , Watch the crosshair (be sure the demo is in first person veiw) .
 Look were they are aiming , were they move the crosshair wile jumping etc... look at the body movment of the player as well you would be amazed what a little twitch of the mouse could do for someone in a jump . If you already knew this good You have been refreshed!

read Dael's 'Different Jumps' thread in quake.. and theres a bunch of advice scattered all over the forums

for the YA to BPBoxs, you shouldnt start out looking right where you want to land, its a circle jump, which means look like 40 degrees left/right (that jump i find easier from the left) and swing(/add strafe for more distance) your mouse, jumping the moment before your looking at where you should land, then slow down the turn and try to land without falling

im not the best at explaining it.. and it took me forever to learn it myself (i used the triple jump off YA boxes)

the Backpack boxes to mega on the other hand, is a fairly simple strafe jump, just strafe and jump at the same time (i tend to strafe a split second before i jump, but that might not be advisable, try it out see what works best) and make sure you leave one corner and land on the other corner(mega). note that when you get better at it you dont really need to worry about the corners so much, as thats a pretty easy jump (a good circle+strafe jump can bounce off the wall to the left of the mega and still land up there [not that thats any use, but its more distance for a camparison])
