On TS i prefer to play with a bad skilled player but with good teamplay :p That way I won't be annoyed and it won't be too easy either. Tho there aren't many players like that. Most have good skill and low tp, but I am used to that now.

I don't think most players on TS are worried about their score in teamplay. I think they just don't know how to play. Either they don't care to get better or they just never play against/with good players nor spec them or watch demos. In eu speccers are almost always speccing the best player and also really speccing. In usa they just spec a random, and prolly don't even watch, but just wait till the match is over. So it seems to me that they don't care that they are bad, and actually they do play for fun and not to win.

Well, I play for fun.... I'd better, cause I'm of near-bottom skill in duels. In teamplay, I play for the team, only I still can't aim with anything except the railgun or grenade launcher.

Arch, the NA tdm scene has been dwindling down since 01/02 and has been basically inactive since 06, with a few spurts of random activity in between. The vast, vast majority of good tdm players do not play. It's not like europe, so making the comparison is kind of silly when no one competes here anymore.

Haunted, I am just giving my thoughts. I partly agree with you. I understand that you see it like that, I also do a bit. But USA does have kinda many active players actually. I played loads on TS tdm server last year. There are much more players then in whole eu, except for the polish and russians. After pol and .ru I think usa comes in terms of how big the scene is. Also look at this forum. There are 100x more posts than in the eu forum. I think the difference is the way of playing, like I said in my other post. I have been the only active NL player for over 5 years too. Many scenes died in eu since q3 came out, as well.

In EU we do live close to eachother but it's not one country. Sometimes americans forget that. Most polish players only speak polish and only play in poland. They aren't part of the 'eu scene'. Same goes for russians. I play with the same 5 players in eu all the time. So to me it doesn't look like a big scene :[

Still, that all doesn't have much to do with my previous psot anyway. I was looking at how usa players play. Imo they play for fun and they don't want to get better and better and win and win. And it's actually a good thing I believe. It was meant positively.

The first time ever I came to a usa server I was called 'eurothrash' before I wrote my first line. And I was bashed like hell for nothing. Now after some years I have learned that most usa players are really nice and that there are just a few rotten egs, like you dirvish. It's the same in eu anyway. I don't even care about eu or usa, it doesn't matter a shit to me. I just play q2. That I mention the word EU doesn't mean that I'm in love with eu. That's your own perception, because probably you are very nationalistic.

Hehe reaper, it's almost funny. Your comment is wrong in so many ways that I dno even rly how to respond. Ill try again with one thing, whether I win or lose is totally irrelevant in this topic. I just don't understand how it got in your mind. If you really do want to talk about this, then tell me about it on a server sometime ^^ I'd gladly listen to you.

Yeah, what you're saying is true but I gotta agree with playboy--who posts here who is at least a little active, that has also played tdm in first and even the second highest tiers in NA gameplay? Probably like 5% of them play still, and 50% of those post here on occasion.

Otherwise you're right arch, the current 'active' NA tdm scene i'm sure just runs around aimlessly shooting for the fun of it somewhat, but you're not looking at the bigger picture. We already know that most of the tdm players here don't play smart, and the one's that can play smart don't bother to try much, I know I don't.

Also, it's possible to both have fun and play at the high level, lol. Here's one of the most fun frags i've ever pulled in my life(i just bumped it because i felt like feeling special), on one of NA's top tdm players (funny, he's inactive
