I was a little surprised to see the extent to which jumpmod (in your case, at least) has changed from "people shouldn't spam the scoreboards" to "nobody should ever take a second name ever, oh my god, the world is coming to an end."

That seems a bit ludicrous to me. (Or have I overstated your position?)

In any case, I'd be interested to hear input from other jumpmod players.

How big a deal are _occasional_ name changes?

Have things gotten to the point where if a stranger comes to tastyspleen from another jump community (say, wireplay)... will they be hassled because their "alias" is unfamiliar?

I spent 5 months playing morrowind (on a 333 p2 thats how long it took)
The next time I got into it after that I started a new character, new name

Maybe if you have timed all the maps you can do it over in a new name?
I don't play jump, just trying to hit my 3,000 post and still be a lil constructive

besides, this is my first and only name change on jumpmod, in over 3 years of jumping... the only issue i see is with toxic, even a new player in jumpmod told you to quit crying, you're only mad because i pwn the shit out of you.

I do see where Tox is coming from, ive used the same name ever since i can remember, it is a bit unfair, BUT if the player wants to lose all statistics then it is their decision really, personally, i would prefer keeping my stats and in future... if people want name changes and want to keep the stats i advise dont use the name you want to change to beforehand, because if you use that name you want changing to, its impossible for me to change it as it is already registered.
So if anybody requires a name change, all you have to do is ask and keep the new name you want clean of map completions and the name is yours.
But if i see people abusing this and nicklaming/spamming the boards i will boot you and report you, fortunately the jump community has improved alot with spamming the boards, i remember a few years back people used the names A, B, C etc to spam them, not saying any names (cough b0at)

And Quadz, remember at the end of a map, there was a free for all, im sure ive mentioned this before

i think it was good fun, wireplay have it now too, is there any chance we can get it back here please? Pretty please with a big cherry on top haha? I used to love that, end of map and we all have a shoot out, would appreciate if you would consider adding it again please mate, regards..... T3h Whistaaaaa

There appear to be four different possible styles:

OVERTIME_ROCKET 1 Rocket Arena Overtime
OVERTIME_RAIL 2 Rail Arena Overtime
OVERTIME_FAST 3 Fastest Run
OVERTIME_LASTMAN 4 Rocket Arena (Last Man Standing)

Probably "1" ?

Last man standing was what I had seen before.
forget what jump server, I always ended up there on account of great ping.

But when you died you died, and had to watch the others duke it out.
Rails would be kewl on account of the size of some of the maps....?

I added it to the config file last week or so. As far as I can tell, it still should be enabled.
