Quake II Server Idea

I used to play at a couple of servers back in the day. One was Toolcity and the other Velocity. I have seen a couple of people that also played at Velocity. I really think they had their shit together as far as nailing a perfect server.

1. The railgun was instagib.
2. The BFG gave you health.

Plus, at any given time there would be people playing. Perfect.

So, I am wondering if there could be a DM server, with not too many custom maps? Stick to the originals. And have those two things apply. Insta-gib and BFG Health.

The BFG gave you health.

What does that mean?  The BFG gives you health that it takes from other players (like Vampire rune?)

Or the BFG gives everyone health instead of damage?

It is NOT like the vampire rune. It does the exact opposite of what the BFG does normally.

So if you get hit with the BFG (directly, indirectly, or proximity beams) you would receive health from it?

That is correct.

But the BFG suggestion is not too important to me. It's really just the fact that I can't find any servers that are DM's with the railgun being insta-gib. Any insta-gib servers I find are either: all rail, tournament style, or arena.

At any given time, back in the day, there were always people playing anywhere 

But...sounds like a cool idea, except railwhoring would have a whole new meaning
