QII Goes Black/Freezes Upon Attempting To Open The Multiplayer Server Window

I installed Quake II again a few months back and was delighted to see that there still was a pretty active community online. I patched the game and my father and I played on the Tasty Spleen servers somewhat regularly up until a month or so ago. Then the game started to freeze and go black once we attempted to open the Network Server window. Connecting through The All Seeing Eye also does not work. Love Quake II, and we both hate being unable to play. Any suggestions?

Im using Windows XP, dont have a proxy, and dont have any internet problems outside of the game.

I can also start a network match and a single player game.

Nevermind, problem solved. Program was being blocked by me delinquint anti-virus. Thanks again.

Yes,  Quake is a incurable virus. Your anti-virus was just trying to do its job.
