What song(s) are you learning/playing atm?
i just learned he is legend - electronic throat this morning.. a relatively easy song with an awesome sounding southern rock riff, awesome to jam to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoENhTFFpQ4
(only part of the song.. and a stupid video in the backround.. just go to :15 and listen for 30 secs if you want to check it out)
Other than that, lately i've been tuning my guitar 3 steps down to B and playing a little bit from kyuss's first album, wretch.

I've been learning concepting the era by decrepit birth, just an awesome song to learn to work on tremelo picking/"basic" tech riffs.

haha i mean yes, it will sound like shit unless you play on electric w/ a nice amp. but cmon where's the kyuss / queens of the stone age fans around here?
I mainly play in B if there's high notes involved in the song.. else i'll just use C, even if it's supposed to be played in B. Not really a fan of the farting riff the e-string makes when tuned to b ;>
checked out the song, seems pretty fun to play nova, might check it out later.

Nah. It's just a pain in the ass with a floyd rose double locking trem. You have to pick the correct string guage, tweak the action and the intonation, possibly add a trem spring. UGH! I'd rather have a root canal with no local! My next guitar will be a fixed bridge. Double locking Ibanez Lo-Pro can kiss me arse! I NEVER use the lock nut. Sure, when setup properly it makes it stay in tune. BUT!!!... it absolutely obliterates the sustain unless its in good condition. My guitar is about 10 years old, the nut saddles are worn from locking the strings down. I certainly wouldn't recommend that kind of bridge for someone looking for a long lasting low maintenance instrument. Mines in dire need of work. My ex dropped a huge tile on it which tore a chunk out of the finish and left a gash in the crown of the 12th or 13th fret. Oh yeah, that makes vibrato sound WONDERFUL! Thanks hun! ......fucking stupid bitch.
