I'm not a person that believes everything they read, but is this stuff true?

I may start learning a lot more about Linux if so.

On another note, I tried to install the beta on my secondary system, and I couldn't get it to go. Just a black screen when booting from the DVD. Thought I got it going when I ran the setup in Windows XP, but when it rebooted went to a black screen as well. But I think it's just that computer, because I have a hard time installing Linux distros on it as well. Maybe HP does something to the computers.

I've heard about that whole protected content thing. I've also heard that 64 bit windows will require a subscription, but i don't know if there's any truth to it. The next version of windows will be a boon for Linux and Mac.

Can anyone suggest a good easy to use Linux distro, something that you can install and use stuff easily. I've played around with a few in the past, and it's never been easy for me to install stuff.

I actually use an copy of xp profesional (not home edition, since it requires 4u2 go online, and activate it over and over again), and what the hell, it makes no fucking sense of buying an copy of an os for each household member ! so hence, is why i use an copy of xp

(even tho they would really hate it)

XP Professional requires activation too. I use Home Edition on my main system, and I only have to activate it once, when I reinstall it. On my systems that I don't use online, like my HTPC, I use a copy of XP Corp, it doesn't require activation.

Well after playing around with Linspire on my other computer I can say it is a pretty easy to use distro for beginners.

Now I just need to get a new hard drive, I have too much on this one that's not backed up, I don't want to format it, nor do I have enough room for a second partition.

So far I like it. Haven't put it on my main system yet, but haven't had any problems with it. It's been easier for me to install programs on than other distros I've tried. I got Quake 2 to run in it, and it plays Divx and Xvid files right out of the box. Now I just need to find which emulators work best in Linux.

Might I suggest Linspire, I'm using it right now. Very easy to use. www.linspire.com

I just have one question. I heard sometime ago that writing to an NTFS partition with Linux could corrupt it. Has that changed?
I don't want to take a chance in corrupting my other partitions, I haven't backed everything up yet.
