Yeah FFA isn't very competitive since 98% of the players are not very good.

Sure TDM seems to be the most active MOD for Quake2 currently but it isn't the only competitive MOD in my mind. I find RA2 to have some major competition when it comes to finding players with a good skill level to play against.
