Where can I get the anti-cheat?

The anticheat system we use can be downloaded above.

You'll need 3 things, all of them will go in your quake2 folder with your quake2.exe file.

1. R1Q2.exe

this is the client program you will use instead of quake2.exe to connect and play.

2. Anticheat.dll

this goes in the quake2 folder with the executables

3. R1GL.dll

this comes in the R1Q2 installer package with the r1q2 updater.


you will need to edit your config.cfg file in your quake2/baseq2 directory and replace the line that says:

set vid_ref "gl"

with

set vid_ref "r1gl"

also, you should add these two lines to the file:

set m_directinput 1
set cl_async 0

save the config.cfg file and copy it to your other mod directories (tourney,rails,rogue,xatrix...)


with these 3 things in your c:\quake2 directory, you should make a shortcut to r1q2.exe.
this is your new quake 2. when you play just use this shortcut to load the game.

With all this set up, you will be using valid anticheat protection on the TS servers.
This will prove to everyone (for the most part) that you are not cheating.

I think adam might be joking,  not sure though.
But I think useing AC requires you to use the r1gl vid_ref.. 


just try doing the     vid_ref r1gl    in console,  and see if it works????

if its going back to software mode your video doesnt support GL modes, or something isnt set up right.

no, really, betty uses software mode with the anticheat.dll, and r1q2. and nope, it does not require r1gl, I can use it with software too, and normal GL, and aprq2/egl doesent use r1gl either : )))))

You can use either ref_gl, ref_soft or ref_r1gl with anticheat. However when using ref_soft or ref_gl, you must ensure you are using the DLLs that came with the 3.20 patch. Older or newer versions will not work. You may find original versions of the DLLs here: http://r-1.ch/originaldlls.zip
