Schedule/play your games!

Just thought I make a thread about it, it's one day untill the deadline for playing your round 2 games has passed. And only 7 out of 16 games have been finished. That means 9 games are to be played by Friday 24th June, 00h00. I know there are some games being scheduled for tonight, allthough yet to see it official with ref confirming the game being scheduled with a ref present. One game I believe will be a bye, as for the rest I don't know.

But still, there is clearly a trend that players delay playing their games as long as possible. This is very tiresome for the admins running the tourney as there will be a lot of stress for them as the deadline approachs with contacting players left and right figuring who made what deal and so on, not to forget the games they need to admin as well. The fact that Laurelin is out of town and not present on the forum making sure games are being scheduled just add to the stress factor for the remaining admins.

Take some responsibility of getting your game played, just ask on the forum what times he is free for playing, and find a date/time where you both are available. If you can't get a hold of the player on the forum, try in any other way and also make clear on the forum you have trouble getting something sensitive out of your opponent when it comes to scheduling, so people seeing the player on a server can put some pressure on him for you. Cry out and keep spamming in the thread so people are aware of your problem. Certainly do not sit on your ass wait for him to approach you, cause then he might do the same and the game will never be played. Schedule the game fairly early, just in case something happens so you can play the game later if needed. Things happen in real life that are more important than a tourney game in q2, so having some days left to spare between the scheduled game and the deadline can come in handy.

And if you have a busy schedule in the week to come, you really need to put some effort into scheduling games. Don't come up with only one time at one day you can play, and expect the other to be there. Just cause you are on a tight schedule doesn't mean your opponent is available for that one time you happen to be online ready to play.

Anyway, all I am saying is games aren't played by themselves, you need to actually put a little/lot of effort into scheduling the game. And don't wait till the very last day, it's a bad habit Just get it done already!

good post, ive been quite irritated with the delays in the tourney since round 1, ive been harrassing people that have nothing to do with my games or my friends games, just because i hate to have this tourney delayed even longer, and i ESPECIALLY hate what chacal is rather fond of which is BYES, fuck byes, you all need to play your matches

Agree with daelmun's post.  Much thanks to the organizers, admins, and refs.  This tourney has been VERY well run.. better than any tourney I've been in.  It has been exciting to tune into the matches live.

I greatly appreciate mature and respectful gameplay, in a word: sportsmanship!   I have been impressed with almost all of the people in this community.   

And, I don't want to point out the foolish squeeky wheels (untactful jerks and sore losers).  I would rather try to reward the other 97%.

I wish I was more available.. I work 10pm-6am EST.. sunday to thursday..  and most peopel play late.. so it doesn't work out for me to be here as often as I'd like.. .

how can anyone be in support of not playing a match? thats :/

Yeah, it's frustrating when people actually prefer byes over playing the game. I know it is a tourney, but we're not playing in the world championship in q2 duelling. In respect of players getting knocked out it is expected to show some sort of willingness to play and play at your best when playing. Look at corky for instance, he even wanted a player in the waitinglist to take his opponent spot when he could actually getting a bye. And he also happened to play me for the 3rd round match right after his 2nd round game. Such attitude is greatly appreciated by admins, I know that for a fact Anyway, just pointing some fingers, cause it doesn't tend to get better all by itself in the later rounds, actually the other way around.
