I'm really fucked up right now and I want to play q2. Too bad I can't. Someone fucking help me damnit. I'm on 10 mbps ethernet from a college campus yet when i join a server I get constant lag outs (like a few every second). I DL fast as shit, yet ASE pings servers as the SS says below. IDK why the fuck it does this shit, someone fucking help me haha. Oh and AIM transfers only go 2k/s for some reason.. it's weird as shit. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHATS UP?

do u realize that most isp's signal is diluted for each person using it,  i can think of like 30 reasons why u could have ghetto ping, but the main 1 is the fact u still live at home with yer mom and u have dial up as always.

uhh if I was on dial up I would still be able to play.. and I play on low ping occasionally when I'm on a diff wireless network than on campus.

ok... obviously it could be a number of problems, possible with no solutions in your control
i'll take it you can figure out some basic thing and run some tests
first things
pick a q2 server like tourney that is working, and type
ping -t (t keeps ping going) and let it run, then look at the statistics at the end.. or sence it is lagging ever second look at the latecy for each ping.
you would expect this to be not the response times you need for good q2, if they are, it might be spyware or something else
anyways, do that, and then a ping to your gateway
if the gateway response is good. try some other q2 server, or google. then maybe a traceroute, tracert from windows
post results,and i'll tell you the problem, or get down to it
