5 am, playing unholier on rage, and system crashes.. hardcore
was a fun game.. I would have liked to of finished it.
anyhow.. reboots to startup choice screen,
start normally.. gets to windows load screen and flashed very breifly a lengthy blue screen of death, and reboots
last good config.. same thing..
safe mode.. same thing
tried a few ways of running the system to check it out,
I have a cd called locksmith, ERM Disk commander or someting like that.
(really good for getting on a passworded system you have physical access too)
(can even set new passwords)
get on and an look around.. all my drives but c: were fine.. c: showed nothing
Couldnt install windows on either of my other drives without deleating the partitions first,
thats no good, both 80gigers with aboutt 5 gig free on each.
setup showed the partition as unknown file system...
couldnt recover anything with filescavenger or disk commander,
maybe something else would have, but I dont have access or patience,
gotta play q2 right?
so I break down and reformat the partition on c:
doesnt work, stays at 0 percent for WAAAY too long
while this is happening I go to have a smoke with my cat,
she loves layin on my chest or lap, she's around somewhere.
I call and call but she dont come.. , nothin
I return..
reboot and try a quick format, it does its thing but cant write to it..
think the drives dead
so I pull a 17 giger out of my old 333 and put it in....
windows installation in progress I go to have another smoke,
this time I'm getting curious about where shes at...
I look all over, sometimes shes under the dresser or behind an end table..
just ignoring the shit out of me.. nothin..
I go over to the window she sits by watching the world go by...
I look out and call some more.. lean out a bit and look around,
spectin to see her looking up making fun of me.. but no
I could just see, leaning out a bit.. her corpse in the street
no shit,.. 3 hours later and finally tears over it
FUCK

My condolences. There aren't many great or helpful words. i went through it twice thirteen days apart losing two dogs about twenty years ago.
You can honor her spirit in your memories.

Thnx, I didnt think it would be this hard....
but its haunting, the litterbox.. the catfood, the water dish, the fur outline in the clean laundry.
I admit dogs are ALOT harder to lose, they give back more love.
That had to be really rough, considering how young you must have been.
Just guessing on the age.
Lost a dog b4, but we had her almost 15 years.
Not that hard when its time.. but this was untimely
and stupid on my part,
indoor cat I found out liked the back porch of a 2 story flight of steps leading to my place..
sat out there with me.. even begged to go out sometimes like a dog...
but never saw her go or sit any further down than the landing halfway.
just poke my head out at the end of the night and see her shiney eyes halfway down,
make eye contact and she came inside so I could lock up.
Folks..Ill be ok I swear... I just dont have many ppl IRL to unload this shit on.
On a happy note
my 56k has chugged thru 17 percent of the 32 meg Nvidia drivers.

So sorry to hear that
My condolences. Puts a similar "crappy" experience I had with my computer the other night in a different perspective.

an ongoing sinking feeling dealing with the pc,
and a growing one about the cat
26 hours awake..

Don't blame yourself. Stuff happens. Give yourself a little time to grieve and then get a new Kitty.

I came home from work on day about 10 years ago and my 11 year old cat "Duke" was lying in the midd;e of the floor with his tongue hanging out and his eyes rolled back in his head.
NOT FUN
REALLY, NOT FUN!
I feel your pain dude, it does suck.
It goes with the territory though, if you are going to have pets, you are going to bury them
It is okay to cry your eyes out to! I did!

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
