QUAD DAMAGE ITEM.. YES ? NO ? WHY ?

quad damage, an item thats been created in the game of quake 2 for a purpose.. ..... that purpose is to completely oblivorate every single player in site for the next 30 seconds or so, and to earn some major frags in the process.. pretty good and fun huh?? so where the @#$#$ is it these dayS? just another result of constant bitching and complianing... so sad. so sad.. whats your opinion? should we put it back into effect instead of that stupid bandolier? LOL?   how about mass fragging up to like 100 frags instead of a wimpy 30 ? fast action quake or slow action quake? no wonder quake 2 is so bland theres no RAW CARNAGE !!

btw tasty spleen is a great server. i dont know how they manage to get all the remainder of quake players these days. LOL.. thats why it should be made into a monopoly !

you have to time the quad, or else it just becomes a lucky draw, who needs to get beaten by some dope who happens to stumble on quad a few seconds before you, even if he wastes it, it could have gone to you, quad is too sparse to be effective

BTW, xquake has quad and invulnerability and powershield enabled...

I don't like invulnerability...

but I think quad is awesome......especially when you kill someone who has it and pick it up from them. Me likee a lot.

I like quad too, but there are (quad Whores) out there that will just do quad after qaud after qaud...makes me wanna punch my moniter.Inv bah who needs it.

powerups are fair game.. learn to use them if you're not a stronger player.

What Element said. Among those listed, I also consider the mega-health as a defensive powerup. Other than that, I sometimes end up with a partial quad that was dropped by a player using it that I just killed. (when dmflags quad-drop and instant items are enabled). If instant items are not enabled, I'll get the powerups and not use them ... lame, huh   

One might also argue that regular armor acts as  a defensive powerup, to a lesser degree (keep in mind that the power shield was mentioned here).
Personaly, for 1v1 and/or teamplay, I'd like to see all the armor suits, powerups, and bfg gone from the map and replaced with just armor shards.

I'd like to see a 1vs1 with NO health, armor, or powerups. Put the realism to the extreme. I think it would be fun, nothing like respawning and shooting one blaster shot at the guy that just killed you and get a frag for it...

wow that is a great idea eye strain, maybe you should make a mod like that...OH WAIT theres already one like that, its called rocket arena 2  , rocket arena is just about aiming and dodging, there is little map control, and overall less strategy, it just emphasizes one aspect of the game, as would a railz server

no armor...only shards? for a 1v1? i dont think so, armor spawns about as fast as a weapon and they are found throughout the map, special items like power shield and quad do not, armor doesnt give you as much of an edge to be taken out as do invuln and quad
