This refers to Solo Senshi's "Server List" thread where he created a page listing Q2 servers that could be viewed by using a plugin for IE (and other browsers) called "Q3Plug".

Every time I tried running Q3Plug in IE, it would immediately crash IE.

I found out what the problem was, and maybe it will help others.

Q3Plug does not peacefully co-exist with the "Google Toolbar". If you have the Google Toolbar installed in IE and try to run Q3Plug pages (with Q3Plug's plugin installed, of course), you'll crash.

Yeah, yeah, I know you Firefox freaks will come a'chimin in with "IE sucks! Firefox rules!", etc., etc. Hey, I like Firefox, too. But I like my apps working they way they should, no matter the vendor.

I'll be alerting Google, as I don't think Q3Plug has had any updating for a couple of years. But, I'll shoot the developer a note, anyway.

Before you ask, I put this in a new thread because it seemed to me there was a better chance of people seeing it, vs. as an added item in the original Solo thread. But if the mod wants to move it, fine by me.

EDIT: More specifically, I've found, it's the Google Toolbar POPUP BLOCKER that causes the crashes. Disabling that fixes the problem!

If you want to use the Google Toolbar with Q3Plug AND use the Popup Blocker, here's the procedure:

(assuming you have the Google Toolbar installed)

First, click on the "Google" button in the toolbar menu bar. Click on Options. UNCHECK the box next to "PopUp Blocker".

Now, go to Solo's page at http://www.geocities.com/illpalazzo69/
and it will load up fine (assuming you have Q3Plug installed).

Then, click the Google button again on the toolbar menu bar and click options. This time CHECK the box next to "Popup Blocker".

You'll see a button to the right on the toolbar menubar that has a number next to "blocked", like "0 blocked". Click that button, and it will then toggle to "Site popups allowed".

Now, you have the best of all worlds. You've got your toolbar, your Q3Plug, and Solo's Q3Plug server page.
