Attention Photobucket users/scamees

Like millions of other folks, I've been using Photobucket to host images that I upload to their service and then link them on these and others forums. It's what they call 3rd party hosting. It's pretty much the only thing anyone ever signed up with Photobucket for to begin with. Well the other week, and then AGAIN today, I get this in my email...

Apparently they're gonna cut off all 3rd party hosting to all users who are not premium account members. And the premium account only costs a tiny measly little FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS PER YEAR! I'd venture to guess that probably only less than .0001% of all users will opt to cough up 400 bucks a year to use their slow crappy censored-as-fuck service.

I've read a little bit around the web and quite a few people say that Photobucket has blocked all their images from displaying on forums. I've gotten two emails so far with a copy of whats on the webpage, but it appears as though my images are still linking. So... I dunno what the fuck the deal is. Sounds like a total scam to me. I dunno why Photobucket would effectively drive all their users away, especially when like I said, their uploading service tends to be slow and buggy. What kinda fucking moron came up with this latest business plan? I've been fairly unhappy with the service ever since I started using it. The shitty ads they eyeball-rape you with make everything run slow as turtle shit. Knowing how annoyingly slow the service is, I wouldn't pay 40 dollars a year for it, much less the abso-fucking-lutely ri-goddamn-diculous 400 dollars per year. That works out to about 34 bucks a month... just to post a couple of stupid memes on messageboards. FUCK YOU VERY MUCH, PLEASE!

I was already getting pretty annoyed with how crappy photo bucket was before this final nail in the coffin came about. Very slow interface, difficult navigation that often ran me in circles, everything was getting so much more cumbersome with photo bucket as time went on, so this change in policy was the final excuse I needed to delete my whole album, and then my account, and very clearly tell them why in the field for reason of closure!

https://postimages.org/ is so much better than photo bucket ever was, it's lightning fast to navigate, everything is very intuitive and no clutter, perfect for everything now. Though of course, fingers crossed they won't end up doing the same things down the line...

So far it appears that they haven't cut off my image links. I haven't uploaded anything new since I started getting harassed with daily spam emails about "some features of your account are disabled".

Yeah, I've increasingly hated Phaggotbucket more and more over the past 8 or so years. When I first signed up back in probably 07 or 08, it wasn't bad. But probably around 09 or 10, like you said, page loads started taking forever, and a few times they drastically changed the structure of my non-categorized all-in-one-shitpile album of several hundred images, making it hard to locate things sometimes. You could no longed load ALL your image thumbs on ONE page to keep from having to wait for 90 different pages to load with 20 images per page. They've also been completely retarded about what shit they decide violates their "decency policy". Some of the things they've deleted from my album while not deleting other things... just fuckin' stupid.

I may check out postimages if/when I wanna start uploading things again. Do they have a strict decency policy like Photofucket or do they let you upload pretty much anything (nudity, etc)?
