Haven't read too many blogs and articles since the fight, but I can imagine she's getting absolutely shatted upon in heaping monstrous proportions. Not just because she lost, but because of the way she lost. My fucking god, it was like watching a Russian chess champ play a 6th grader.

Yeah, that was one of the only articles I actually bothered reading after the fight. I think the author is being slightly over-critical of her corner coach when he told her about catching her with the left. She definitely WAS catching her with that straight left, and that was probably what was lighting up Ronda's face so red. If you wanna be critical of her coaching, the worst shit he obviously did was not train her properly BEFORE the fight. Like I said before, Holm went 3 entire rounds earlier this year without knocking out little bitty Raquel Pennington and only won it by a SPLIT decision, not even unanimous decision. Why did Raquel Pennington have better success? Because she's fucking better at boxing obviously. She kept her chin down and both hands up high right in front of her face with her elbows forward, like any competent boxer would block. Rousey's chin was straight out, her mouth was open, and her right hand was sorta high, but it was CONSTANTLY out and about 90 degrees AWAY from her. And a lot of that had to do with the sideways karate stance she was taking. When you stand like that, an opponent knows that if shit gets hot in the pocket, all they gotta do is duck and slide to the right and then counter the living the fuck out of you. And this kinda shit is why so many of the female fighters in the UFC are just embarrassing to watch. It's their full time job, they train constantly at it, and yet they STILL have such bad technique. 

I always liked Ronda Rousey. But her attitude for this last fight was WAAAY the fuck too out of whack. You could tell at the weigh-in, she was fucking scared. She was continuing to talk smack, trying to get mean and angry about it, but it just shifted to her almost busting out into tears the longer she went out about it. And she's gotten worse and worse about the shit talk with each fight, obviously trying to hype the drama and sell more PPV's. But I honestly don't think that bullshit sells more subscriptions.

Yeah, that manufactured drama in the weigh-in was just... unnecessary. I was beginning to wonder how much of it was an act (Ronda in prior interviews had stated she likes to play the "heel") vs. Ronda scoring an own goal against her own psyche by actually convincing herself she was embroiled in some major personality drama that only existed in her own mind.

Did you see the weigh-in after the little face-to-face "scuffle" thing though? She was talking, almost incoherently babbling, about her reasons for having a beef with Holm. When she started talking, it was like she forced herself to get so worked up and mad about it that all her adrenaline just dumped, and then within a few seconds the girly emotional shit took over and she almost started crying, haha! It looked like a school girl in the principals office giving an excuse for fighting with another girl.

THAT right there... was why I had a reeeeeeally bad feeling about putting money on that fight. I knew right then and there that she was actually scared of her opponent. Scared fighters stiffen up, don't react as quickly, and make mistakes.

That is the WORST thing you can do against a competent boxer. You're supposed to bite down on your mouthpiece to keep your lower mandible from getting fucking dislocated. If you get slammed with a hard overhand right hook on the side of your jaw from someone who's practiced it eight quadrillion times, it can rip your fucking jaw off if your mouth is wide open. Furthermore, if your chin is straight out and your mouth wide open, and your opponent loops over the top with a wild 5 to 7 o'clock overhand that lands on the end of your chin, it's gonna snap your whole head down so quick and violently that it'll knock you the fuck out instantly. That's why you ALWAYS hear boxing coaches say, "KEEP YOUR CHIN TUCKED!"

I kinda understand now why Joe Rogan and Dana White and the whole UFC world hyped up Ronda Rousey and made her sound like an invincible machine. Yeah, she's really damn good, but it's been obvious this whole time that her boxing really isn't any better than anyone else in the division. Most of her wins came by way of submission anyway. It wasn't until recently that she insisted on proving herself as a striker, probably as a way of silencing any of her critics, but more so as a way of establishing a history of striking wins that will keep any future opponents from focusing too much on grappling and defending submissions during their training camps, thus giving them less time to prepare for that aspect of the fight, thus giving Rousey as much advantage as possible in that area of the fight. But the reason they kinda had to create the Rousey invincibility legend is because they wanted the women's division to be a success. And I guess it worked. Because if it hadn't been for the draw of the title fights featuring an amazing unstoppable Rousey, most of the fans probably wouldn't have given a shit to watch the women fight... precisely because they have such bad technique compared to the men.

There's a few that are pretty decent at it though. If you saw the womens strawweight title fight in the last UFC PPV, you saw one of them. That Polish chick Joanna Drkjbglkczyk (can't spell her crazy last name from memory, but it starts with a D and ends with czyk) is a decent boxer. She's even sometimes utilizing excellent slipping and rolling, something you almost NEVER see any of the women fighters in the UFC do very well. She's also got great snappy straight jabs, another thing rare among the women. Most of them tend to wanna chickenwing their arms up at the shoulders and come flailing in with wild hooks and jabs that utilize arm and shoulder strength and have little to no hip rotation and body weight behind them, which is where a competent boxer is gonna generate added power behind their strikes.

Ugh, it's just so frustrating to watch. Everyone watching these fights from home can clearly see this shit, I'm sure their coaches can clearly see this shit, and yet... they continue doing the same shit fight after fight.

NUNES sent rousey back to hell with a million strikes to the face. Rousey didnt even shake her hand or stay after the fight to speak with media. She is the definition of sore loser and why I berate her so badly. If you lose, lose with dignity goddamit.

The way that Ronda lost her latest fight, it seems like her career is done. An invincible champ can't go out in 48 seconds, so easily. Even CM Punk lasted longer in his debut bout.

Ronda quitting would be the best thing for her health. I can't imagine her brain can take anymore punishing blows, which her head seems to be a magnet to. Amanda Nunes was right that Ronda barely moves her head around in these fights, which I do now remember Ronda doing during her fights. I think that just shows you how much more of an amateur Ronda in the striking game.

Problem is she obviously has a TERRIBLE boxing coach for her fight camps. Instead of moping around feeling sorry for herself for most of 2016, she should've jumped back into the gym after a 2 month recovery to immediately go hardcore on nothing but boxing and muay thai training for a year. Maybe she has the boxing offense fundamentals of punching a heavy bag and thai pads, but she clearly hasn't had nearly enough work on boxing defense and counter punching. If she's smart, she WON'T retire and will allow herself to learn more from this last loss than she did from the previous one. She needs to stop crying about it, suck it up, and get to work. And for Gods fucking sake, she needs to FIRE THE LIVING FUCK outta whoever is her current boxing specialist coach. Clearly that guy ain't teaching her the right shit.

She WAS good. But the womens divs are finally starting to see some competent experienced boxers who show REAL technique rather than the old cat fight arm flailing bullshit you saw too much of in the first few years when UFC introduced the womens divisions.

I'm still not sure Mayweather would wreck Rousey. He has no judo or grappling training that I'm aware of. Might not matter though. If he danced around good enough and pot shotted her with enough jabs, it'd be another easy 1st rd TKO.

In retrospect,... Holly Holm could've easily gotten a 60 second or less TKO on Rousey like Nunes did. She played it overly cautious and only looked to counter. Had she been the aggressor like Nunes, it would've ended a lot sooner. In the CM Punk comparison,... goes to show you how serious CM Punk DID take his training and how much he really learned from having decent coaches. Mickey Gall was honestly too tough of a 1st fight for him and a really poor pairing. That kids a future star, no doubt, maybe even a future champ. But CM Punk actually survived in that fight WAY longer than I expected he would against a serial killer like Mickey Gall. So good for CM Punk, he's not the joke I kinda thought he was beforehand.
