UFC 194 poll: Jose Aldo vs Connor McGregor

HOLY SHIT. UFC 194 is gonna be killer. Besides the featuring one of the most anticipated bouts in UFC history for unification of the Featherweight title in the main event, it's also gonna feature a fight between Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold for the Middleweight title. Two title fights in one night.

Additionally, Ronaldo Souza vs Yoel Romero in a middleweight matchup. Niiiiiiice. Not enough?

Jiu Jitsu superstar Demian Maia vs BJJ black belt Gunnar Nelson in another welterweight fight.

Also, featherweights Max Holloway and Jeremy Stephens will undoubtedly slug it out.

This whole main card is stacked with great matchups. Can't fucking wait!

I'm gonna go ahead and predict a win for Jose Aldo. I like Connor McGregor, he's a terrific boxer with SHITLOADS of power in his hands, but from what I saw in his last fight against Chad Mendes, he totally sucks at grappling and doesn't have much chance of getting off his back if the fight goes to the ground against a BJJ-based mixed martial artist opponent like Jose Aldo. I think Aldo saw McGregor's last fight and noticed his weak ground game too. So more than likely, he's gonna stand and strike with him a while, maybe throw a bunch of hard lower leg kicks like he's renowned for hoping to kick him off his feet, then swarm on top of him when he goes down. Either he'll ground-n-pound him out or submit him if McGregor fights too much from the bottom.

Then again... Like I said, McGregor's got EONS of punching power. He's crafty, slick, and sneaky with it too. It didn't take too many punches and he crumpled both Chad Mendes and Denis Siver, both of whom have decent chins. You never know. McGregor might plink Aldo off standing up. That's what makes this such a great fight.
