hand switching alias

hey so i made this video for a friend but might as well make it for anyone to see it so it just a demo but i created an alias to switch handedness on the fly to make better placed corner shots in certain situations. I have it bound to my mousewheel click (mouse3) button and it works really nicely. i will attach the demo to watch and i will post the alias for it below. enjoy


you can re arrange the hand orders or the binds if you want to but this is what im using and mostly i stay on left hand..

alias lefthand "hand 1;echo LEFTHAND;bind mouse3 righthand"
alias righthand "hand 3;echo RIGHTHAND;bind mouse3 middlehand"
alias middlehand "hand 2;echo MIDDLEHAND;bind mouse3 lefthand"

Never used this kinda alias..couple of players used to use this type of shit for corner shooting in ra2 and instagib though

I could see that working very well with a G5, it had a tilt left/right as well as up and down.  I kinda miss it.
was able to do 5 things with just the mouse wheel.

Btw, Realistic is a lamer for pretending to be Granny the past few days.

Someone feel free to explain why this encourages better corner shots or angles... I see very little benefit from this. I feel like if I were to focus my efforts on recognizing the few times I'd profit off this, I'd shortchange myself position.

Interesting idea. I haven't had a chance to watch the demo, but I will check it out later today.

My main question is whether or not you are still able to get hit while doing these type of corner shots. I'm assuming that if you use this trick while stationary behind a corner, you will still be able to get hit. If that is the case, then when doing this trick while moving behind a corner, I think the amount of exposure time you are reducing is quite negligible. Maybe this trick would do slightly better in closer quarters but I'm guessing that the results would not be good enough to warrant using that trick. Perhaps I'm wrong on this since I never seen anyone do this before.

haunted: you do realize the gun placements are not just for looks? it actually moves where your shots fire from. so yes this does actually help corner shots. for example, you're in mega room on q2dm1 and you're peeking out the arena door for a quick rail shot against someone near lift/arena area. If you have left handed gun you have to strafe farther outside the doorway to shoot so it wont hit the wall. right handed is best to have in this situation.

another example would be when you're on top of lift and you're peeking through the hole into mega room stairs. center gun is the best to have in this spot because it's less likely you will hit the floor/walls near the hole when you shoot and you can shoot straight down to the floor in mega room instead of an angle.

Even tho the script IS effective I personally don't think it's worth the trouble. I stick with center model at all times

Yeah, I do realize that..it seems like if I were to focus on recognizing the when's and if's of it being applicable though, i'd end up sacrificing other parts of my game. The metagame will likely NEVER advance far enough for this subtlety to actually be beneficial, is where I was getting at. But yeah, I am with you, it's not worthwhile.

if you played only instagib it would be slightly more useful.

when you dont have as many factors to take into account you may have more time to use something like this and have it make a small difference.

if you don't play peekaboo +back instagib tho.. I dont see someone having time to bother with it while moving forward

Haha I used to think it would actually switch sides my gun was on!

It works OK, but if you switch hands you don't move as much . . . so you appear lazy and slow.
