A good 1-eared headset, USB preferred...

Can anybody recommend a good 1-ear headset for use with Q2, etc.?  I think I've heard USB is preferred, so I suppose I'd prefer a USB one.  I've never owned a headset, so not sure what I need to look for.  Just always like to buy something of higher quality if I'm gonna shell out the cash.  TYIA =)

Not sure why USB would be preferred... I'd think it would just mean you can't hook it up to anything other than a computer.  In any case you could get a USB audio adapter off eBay for around $10 US.

How would you tell what's sounds are coming from your left or right?

I'm pretty sure the headset is for voice only. Much like the x360. I have a full 5.1 surround system to my 360 and the earpiece lets me speak to my team. I get all the sounds around me and the heads up from my team. Many a knifekill has been earned in COD4 that way.

Yeah, I just use my 2.1 speaker setup for Quake 2 sounds.  I just want the headset for voice chat.  I don't like wearing headphones for long periods of time, they get uncomfortable, and I have a couple higher $$$ pair of Sennheiser's too.
