What the hell is all that shit on the side of the trunk? Are those the fuses? Because normally the fuses are gonna be located in an access panel under the front dash somewhere on the drivers side. Not on the top part of the dash, but under where the steering column protrudes from the drivers side. I have no clue why they'd feel the need to run all that wiring down the opposite length of the chassis and place the fuse board in the trunk. Usually in the sidewall of the trunk, manufacturers put a box containing the jack and lugwrench. I've heard of some companies putting fuse panels on the passenger side of the dash, but that's not so weird either. It makes sense to place it somewhere near the dash and the firewall just so you can cut costs on how much wire it takes. I'm wondering if maybe that car was bought "used" and a previous owner actually MOVED the fuse box and dash component processor? Just for basic safety, that seems like a REALLY stupid place to put those items. If someone hits you in that passenger rear quarterpanel hard enough to crush that area into the trunk, the car might still be driveable. But if the fusebox gets demolished in the process from such little overall damage, the car could easily be incapacitated and undrivable. That's another reason they usually choose to place it under the dash. That area is only likely to be damaged in a crash that would be so devastating that the car would be undrivable anyway.

Well, the car I bought was used, but it's actually designed that way... So, it wasn't customized by previous owner, that's the mystics of BMW design

That was very very stupid of them. Sounds like a recipe for a lawsuit involving a fatality accident. In the car business, if you leave a flaw in the design anywhere, it's gonna kill someone at some point. Wouldn't be the first idiotic design flaw I've ever seen in a motor vehicle though. I own a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 single cab pickup truck. Several years ago I had a taillight burn out. While I was driving at night, all of the sudden the dash lights went out. I couldn't see shit on the dash and it was HIGHLY distracting. Then about 10 minutes later, only half of the dash lights came back on, and the speedometer was stuck on 0 even though I was probably doing 60 or 65 mph. Then the radio went out a few minutes later. Then a few more minutes later, the radio came back on. I had NO FUCKING CLUE what was going on. The next day I talked to my neighbor who worked at the dealership where I bought the truck and I explained the symptoms to him. He asked me if I had a taillight out. I was thinking... "A FUCKING TAILLIGHT!?! How in the hell can a bulb in the taillights being dead effect the dashboard!?!" So I checked my taillights, and sure enough, the right rear one was out. Well apparently they don't wire shit up individually like you assume they might, they run shit in a series, I guess to save money on wiring. So if a bulb goes out, other shit on that circuit is gonna go out too. Luckily they don't wire the headlights up to that same series or else if a damn reverse light went out, you'd be driving along at night and all the sudden you'd be fucking BLIND!

Anyway, when my dashboard lights went out, luckily I was on a stretch of road I knew very well, otherwise the unnerving distraction of having my entire dashboard malfunction might've distracted me enough to cause me to leave the road flip into a ditch.
