talking along that line, i think one of the most successfull businesses of all time is religion. Resilient through ages and even booms during crisis (as people tend to flock back to their belief in times of needs).

Of course they're rich.  They don't pay their clergy or priests, no matter how high up you are, a single dime.  All that money they get from people they put right into the church establishment itself.  You even have to get a fucking degree in Theology to be a pastor, and you don't get paid a penny.
