A Quake 2 Lithium server would be MUCH appreciated and I'm sure popular.  There are quite a few lithium servers out there but as mentioned above- none with good settings.  An 'oldschool' type ffa lithium server without start weapons and normal hook would be a lot of fun.  Even an lithium osp server ( I think that's what the match server is like )... like the tourney type server.

Please consider this as a favourable option

Lithium please.

The default "sv_airaccelerate 10" is by far the best setting to allow the player to move around with great speed, also known as the hookboost or speedjump. You can make turns of 90 degrees at full speed due to the high airaccelerate. (see boost-demo, huwaa! huwaa!) If you're new to Lithium it feels weird and slow, but once you master the hookboost all the other mods seem slow as shit.
I still play it on Chefs - a german server (160.45.60.210:27911) which has a very good and basic setup, standard hook, no runes and no start weapons. IMO ten times better than PSC's backshooters server (=>ridiculous high-speed hook which kills the speedjumping + tons of runes + RL(30 rockets) and RG(50 slugs) at start... Yuck!) There are also two old Dutch servers on XS4ALL (194.109.69.80 /194.109.69.82) but these use runes and don't have custom maps. Unfortunately all these servers are pretty much dead-as-a-dodo so when I feel like playing some lithium I first need to get a bunch of online buds together.

(Oh and CTC rocks, played it on LAN's a lot which always resulted in a lot of fun and laughing. Finding a save spot and camp with the chicken as long as possible to score points is pretty hard when you're leaving a clear trail of flying feathers behind. It's a great MOD to learn dodging and escaping while being under heavy fire. But I doubt it's suited for larger crowds on a public server...)

Of course...I already noticed your total inability to place yourself in another's perspective. Do you think I expected you to consider anyone else but you now? haha...yeah right.

I agree with panjoo - no start weapons please!  But I do like runes to a certain extent-- like 1 per person so that the map isn't covered with them hehe.
I also agree with the hook... a decent hookspeed and pull would be nice so that hook jumping is actually usefull..
