I remember being a Junior in high school at Vo-Tech when they bought a brand new Macintosh. At the time that thing was just unbelievable.  Especially when I was learning code on a f'cking Tandy.

I remember the good old days when you used to have to go to a Radio Shack and pick either a Tandy or a Commodore if you wanted a computer. Back then, you used to be able to get all kindsa neat shit at Radio Shack. These days, you can still get plenty of neat shit there (if it isn't OUT OF FUCKING BUSINESS BY NOW), but no one does. The only thing people go to Radio Shack for anymore is cordless home telephone batteries and the occasional odd little 1 or 2 dollar electrical component like a fuse or a audio plug adapter.

Agreed, i love Radio Shack. My current AT&T smartphone came from there because NO ONE else had it but them. and yea, talking about neat shit, nowhere else could I ever find a S-video to RCA adapter.

Any time I go there it's for a part like that,  I too am surprised they still operate.  I guess the xmas rush keeps them open all year.

a lot of stores have made radio shack obsolete, but those stores aren't around me. Also, wal-mart is a good 20-25 minutes after RS so i'd rather not go the extra way, even with radio shack's ridiculous prices
