you can mess with the registry all you want... just back shit up first xD cause you WILL break it if you go in and blindly start editing and deleting entries... though some times it does fix problems, i doubt it would here

I already explained that I went into the addon menu you are describing and clicked disable. The question is to go further than that and actually delete it. I thought my post was very thorough. But since you didn't even pay attention to the version number, I assume you can't have read it anyway.

havent touched ff5 yet, odd they would change the menu up that much

im mostly browsing the web on debian stable with a security patched chromium 9 lol

I've never seen that version of firefox before. Mine says its version 3.6.18. I guess win7 has some funky special version all it's own. I started using that Google Chrome one for a little while, but I wasn't too crazy about it. I prefer the IE-like layout of firefox. Also, I like the little skins you can use for it. Been using a Jagermeister skin for a while now. Also, google chrome seemed to be a little too system integrated if you know what I mean. I seem to remember the history section keeping track of web browsing as well as local files browsed. That seems like a bit of a security risk, if some site were to driveby download some kinda spyware shit to me, I'd think it wouldn't be too hard for them to see my personal files that have nothing to do with web browsing somehow.

God damn, ain't karma a motherfucker. No sooner do I say that and then I'm browsing around and get that annoying "xp internet security 2012" drive-by download malware bullshit for the 3rd or 4th time. Luckily it's pretty simple to weed out. And hell yes I was looking at nekkid pictures when I got it, fuck me sideways.

Yeah, it's easy to get rid of. It's basically a fake antivirus program. The goal of that particular malware is to scam you out of money by making you pay for an activation code to disable how it always detects a "virus" whenever you try to open your web browser or start most EXE's. I hopped on my other partitions OS and browsed around for the shit to get rid of it. I found one page that listed a pair of the registration codes to put into it to make it stop. I thought that was pretty fucking funny, the lazy man's way out, lol.

Anyway, yeah, it's a pretty common piece of malware for people to acquire and pretty simple to get rid of.
1. CTRL+ALT+DEL and close the main EXE of the rogue program (it goes by many different names, just turn off whatever one prog you don't normally see there)
2. Add the registry fix to the registry that disables it from re-starting every time you open an EXE file
3. install and run malwarebytes anti-malware to remove the files
4. Done.
