Spike models, aimbots, and wallhacks are cheats.

Brightskins, alternative ammo / weapon skins, and different textures + skies is not cheating.

Everyone uses a modified pak. There is a very small percentage who don't. PURRI uses a modified pak, DaHanG uses a modified pak, Scooby uses a modified pak, Damiah uses a modified pak, I use a modified pak... you get the idea. The fun in quake 2 is how customizable it is, and while there are people who use player sounds like "25" or "75", most of them are just custom sounds from other games. Just check out MY sexy pak.

Dahang modified very little in his q2 if I remember right.

Just a few items / sounds are different on mine. pretty much stock.

I got a chuckle out of that myself.  And it wasn't a joke fader, you grouped yourself with them not thinking anything of it.  And you aren't even a 1/20th of anyone of those guys.

pak's dont give you a serious advantage... any decent player knows this

i play mostly stock anyway... ive seen some CRAZY paks that replace damn near everything, and thats just stuipd imo :/ i like the feel of stock quake2 as long as i get my gl_coloredlightmaps 0  

EDIT: i could say most changes for most peoples paks are purely on preference, like i use the quake3 armor sound and the quakeworld mh sound and more of a quakeworld rocket sound than quake2 (though i do like the stock q2 rocket sound)
