ok after reformatting my computer my r1q2 and ac had not dropped out, until today, once again it did not give an error message but it left an error message in my event viewer and this is what it says
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the crd service to connect.
The crd service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
event ID 7000
but this only occured after i followed these optimizing idea from this webpage
http://redchaos.wordpress.com/tutorials/tweak-xp-for-gaming/
The only ones i did was these ones
Go to start\run\regedit -and then to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
3.Create a new dword and name it IOPageLockLimit – double click it and set the value in hex – 4000 if you have 128MB of ram or set it to 10000 if you have 256MB set it to 40000 if you have more than 512MB of ram -this tweak will speed up your disckcache.
and this one
For Users with 256 MB RAM or more this tweak will boost their Windows- and Game-Performance.
What it does: It tells Windows not to use any Swap File until there is really no more free RAM left.
Open the System Configuration Utility by typing msconfig.exe in the RUN command. There in your System.ini you have to add “ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1″ under the 386enh section.

if its not causing any problems aside from the event viewer notification just ignore it.
CRD service is prolly from a 3rd party device that uses default memory management (ex. photoshop, power management etc. ). You can also eliminate that event viewer error, by querying that particular device, but its kinda complicated to explain.
Ex.
Look in the services (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Services) list and see if there's a crd service. If there is, look at the properties and check that the file pointed to by the "Path to Executable" field. My suspicion is the file doesn't exist. If you can't find the crd service in the services control panel, you might try checking in the registry. Look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\CurrentControlSet\Services\crd. The ImagePath variable points to the executable.

Quake II is not 27 years old. I refuse to accept THAT much time has gone by.
