anticheat playing havoc

ok earlier today my r1q2 was crashing when i went to connect to a server, i spoke to someone and discovered my anticheat was anticheat.dll.old so i remove it from my q2 folder and re download anticheat and used the r1q2update and all was fine for a few hours. Now all of a sudden my anti virus keeps popping up every few seconds warning me i have a virus (i am using avira) and even if i try to block it, it still pops up, and it actually crashed my computer. everything froze up i had to unplug my computer from the wall to restart it, i had to do this 3 times already in the past 15 minutes. wtf is going on? my virus scanner is detecting it as TR/crypt.XPAC.Gen virus

My anticheat.dll was recognized as a virus by AVG, the program deleted my anticheat without asking me, pretty annoying.
My only option was to delete avg..

Yeah mine keeps wanting to report my anticheat as a virus with AVG as well.  I just don't have the problem where it deletes it.  You can probably go through your options and keep it from doing that.  I ignore the warning and sometimes have to just turn off the Resident Shield in order for it to stop popping up.  That is what is causing the warning popups.

Add the anticheat DLL to the list of exceptions in AVG, this tells AVG to ignore that file when it scans.

Yeah its pretty common from what I read off R1CH's forums. As others have said you can add it to the exceptions list in AVG. You could also just try switching anti-virus solutions too. I recommend Avast, I always preferred that one, at least for free anti-virus anyways. I'm not running it at the moment (recently did a reformat and haven't bothered installing it yet) so I can't tell you if it would have a false positive on r1q2's anti-cheat module or not, but I'm willing to bet its a better anti-virus solution than AVG .

I use McAfee, doesn't seem to detect it unless I run a scan with full heuristics turned on. Then it gets "Artemis!234923A48E09234" or whatever the heck that hash is.
