Adelphia cable slow today

My cable connection slowed down real bad today, check out this speed test:

Makes me feel like I'm on dail-up, really affected my ping on the server too,

A 232 ping, when I'm usually around 70-90, sometimes higher when I have some BitTorrents open, but this time Quake 2 was the only thing running.

best to do speed tests that are held on your isp side. i do tests on dslreports.com as well and it all depends where the test is being held ill get results from anywher 2mb-5.1mb down and anywhere from 300-523 up
did you check on the forums on that site for your provier i also remember reading about that company in the news lately they want that one family to pay billions!

Just one of the many weird occurences with this company, I'd like to get away from them, but they are the only cable company in my area, and DSL is too expensive to have installed.

They are selling the company in certain areas, hopefully they sell it in my area to a company that will do things a little better.  A little speed upgrade would be nice.  I don't feel the need to subscribe to their fastest service with a static IP, because they don't let you run servers of any type, and that's what I'd like to do.  A Quake 2 server is what I'd like to run, and maybe even a webpage.

I know there are alternatives, such as free web hosting services, but they place too many restrictions on space and bandwidth.

I do look at those forums, sometimes they can be helpful.

if your in range for dsl its pretty cheap nothing really to the install but putting a few filters on your ohter phones usually they just test your line out before and let you know

SBC is not available in my area, so I'd have to go with BellSouth.

I went to BellSouth's website, it would be cheap if I did the self install, but I have no experience in that.  Plus I don't have a land line, would that matter?

I use the Nocheat client, it has options to display the last four lines of chat at the bottom the screen, as well as fps, upload/download rate, and ping.
