Installing Linspire (Linux) on an HP Pavillion a400n

I hope someone here can help me.
I am trying to install Linspire on my HP Pavillion, it boots to the selection screen to choose whether I want to install or run the live cd, but no matter what I choose it just reboots the computer. This happens with any Linux distro I have tried on it, I can't even get Knoppix to boot on it.
Current system specs:
Intel Celeron 2.7Ghz
Intel Chipset
1024MB RAM
20GB HD
PCI Video: nVidia MX4000 128MB
Integrated Video: Intel Extreme 64MB shared
AC'97 Audio
DVD-ROM and CD-RW (not sure of the brands right off hand)
I have done everything I can think of to get it to work. I've tried each stick of ram separately, I've taken out the nVidia card, played with various BIOS settings. I've even taken out the multimedia card reader, I didn't use it anyway, and the floppy drive, which I also never used. I know the hard drive is good because I took it out and put it in an old 700Mhz Celeron Gateway, and Linspire installed with no problems on it.
I have no problems installing Windows on it, but I would like to start using Linspire if at all possible on it.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

I have solved this.
Seems I have to disable acpi, and also take out the nVidia card, because it was conflicting with the integrated video. HP didn't think it necesary to implement a way to just disable the built in video I guess, so I'm stuck with it.
Lesson, don't buy name brand pc's.

definatly.. im running on a pos dell now.. i miss my old self-built computer... it costs a little more usually but building it or going with some of the better companys (Falcon NW, Alien, gaming rigs mostly make good computers that are easy to upgrade and change around)
