edit: the point im trying to make is, while I have no clue if it is or not, i would imagine it's a subbranch of something important anyway, microscopic items are important science projects though perhaps that's more engineering but nevertheless, even if it isn't its a bit of fun and you're hardly in a place to call what scientists are doing outrageous
