I want to make a Config file with Team Binds (e.g. Dropping Weapons and Telling Locations) with R1Q2. My question is how to use them? How can I use $$loc_here? Which lines should I type in my Config file?

That works with .loc files. You can make your own (r1q2 command in console addloc) or use some already made. http://filesource.quakeclans.org/misc.php

yes.

Here are some for the stock dm1-8 maps, along with a config that will use them:

anytime you make a teamchat bind, and you include "$$loc_here" in the text, it will display a short text description from the .loc file for the closest value it has to the area you are standing when you use that bind.

if you use "$$loc_there" it will display a short text description of the area your crosshair is pointed at when you hit the bind.


The difference is important too.. If you want your team to know where you are during an event, you'd use $$loc_here.

say you have a team chat bind that says "ENEMY SPOTTED!!".. you'd want to use $$loc_there and hit that bind when you're looking at that enemy so your team gets their location instead of the one you're standing at.

depending on the purpose of the chat bind, you should determine exactly what location info you want to share.

here is an excerpt from my config. It isn't as complicated as some TDM teamchat setups, but it can convey most of the vital info you'd need except for item timing and controlling chatter:

1-3 Team movement suggestions
